:"According to a source, one political panelist e-mailed Clark that Bloomberg was booked on Meet the Press to talk about gun control. Clark responded, "We haven't buried the children yet, we're not discussing it.""

Once in a while they act like they have a conscience. Sorry subby, I can't get outraged at this.

Better to stay silent, something something.

If Drew puts 6 gun or more control threads up in one day he gets a free order of eggrolls is my guess.

Yeah, and see where pushing that non-issue got them. They and the republicans looking like dickheads.

Fox News was on at the gym this morning -- of course -- and after a few minutes of Connecticut coverage it was right back to Benghazi and how "Clinton cannot escape testifying forever."

Conscience my ass. The pro-gun lobby has never shied away from a fight until now. I don't know if anything is ultimately going to come of this, but at the moment this one seems different. The gun manufacturers are getting hit, the NRA is riding out the storm in silence, and the GOP actually seems excited to be talking about the fiscal cliff. I think they're terrified of an Akin moment with this. The people will tolerate a lot, but 20 dead kindergartners is too much.

add to the fact that the recent elections put the GOP in a VERY weak position plus several state level GOP organizations are determined to be complete dickholes (Michigan, i'm looking at YOU!) and well...the Republicans really did NOT need a surprise gun control debate dumped in their laps right now. a lot of badness hit the Republicans all at once.

This. And, being a wing of the Republican Party, FOX is going to do all it can to avoid any issue that is inherently harmful to the Party.

NRA NRA BOOGA BOOGA!!

If you want to ban assault rifles have the POTUS stand up there and say he's going to push to get them completely banned. Continuing to make the NRA the boogieman is getting tired.

Cowards, fetishists, cheapskates, and liars.

What is the problem, for $500?

2012-12-18 01:34:12 PM
@rupertmurdoch: Terrible news today. When will politicians find courage to ban automatic weapons? As in Oz after similar tragedy.

Marcus Aurelius: Benghazi?

Obama sent men into that school to shoot kids so people would quit talking about Benghazi. He framed the entire thing on those gun loving, rich, white American Christians, the Lanza family.

F*ck the NRA. If they stop being assholes, people will stop treating them like assholes.

Any organization with Wayne LaPierre in power deserves no respect. F*ck the NRA

No, the boogeyman doesn't exist. The NRA does, and we got a couple dozen dead first graders.

Nope, they're fine with it.

Or at least fine with deflecting to mental illness instead,.

Shouldn't they be ringing the "they're coming for our guns" alarm? Bump up gun sales to even more record numbers?

I am really getting a kick out of this sudden surge of support for better mental healthcare by the pro-gun crowd.

2012-12-18 01:57:18 PM
They have been ORDERED not to talk about guns on the air, and like good little propaganda organization employees, they are complying. My guess is the powers-that-be don't want any of their on-air bimbos (male or female) saying something unbelievably stupid and insensitive that lands them in a scandal.

It's interesting to note that Murdoch is in favor of banning "automatic weapons" (although I think he means SEMI-automatic weapons). Would love to be a fly on the wall at Faux News right now, as I'm sure the internal debate has been interesting.

Uranus Is Huge!: I am really getting a kick out of this sudden surge of support for better mental healthcare by the pro-gun crowd.

Obama and the Dems should offer it to them, wrapped in a nice single-payer healthcare package, with a bow on top.

2012-12-18 01:59:09 PM
Well of COURSE the media wing of the GOP is silent when the guns they worship are used to kill young children. They're trying to spin it into a positive, job-creator-friendly story, while simultaneously blaming it on Obama. Don't worry, wingnuts; your marching orders should be delivered by the end of the week.

2012-12-18 01:59:23 PM
An absolute outrage. They should demand consfication!!

26 people are killed in America -- FOX quiet.
4 people are killed in Benghazi -- FOX goes into 24/7 outrage mode.

What I want to know is why they won't talk about my penis. My penis deserves more attention from the media than gun control, and they refuse to talk about it. I want to know why they won't devote unflagging 24 hour coverage to my penis and it's national importance.

All at once the NRA shuts down their social media, Faux News ceases gun discussion at a time when it's the hottest news topic in the country, and all of the gun supporting Republican politicians collectively refuse to talk about it on any news shows. Total orchestration. But remember, kiddies, it's the "left wing media" boogie-monster that we all have to be afraid of.

2012-12-18 02:22:14 PM
They're just in their backrooms working on their talking points to try and distract from when people mention 20 children mowed down with guns.

I'm guessing it should take about a week.

2012-12-18 02:24:43 PM
What do you mean strangely silent? I was at my grandparents house for 15 minutes yesterday and saw 5 commercials with teases about how they were going to talk about the left's politicizing of the tragedy.

Here, read up on them. It's fun to replace 'borg' with 'teabagger' or 'gop member' just in the first paragraph. It would be nice if there was 1 singular mind in Fox news, let's call him Hugh.
