I still remember all the times we used to take toy guns to school. Think I'd get in trouble today packing one of these?

Toy guns, hell! We had a BB gun that was a *very* realistic metal replica of a Colt 1911 that we kept in our club room, which, once found when reported by a nosy coed, resulted in us getting a very stern talking to.

Today you'd be lucky if you were ONLY shot 15 or 20 times.

I remember a time when the local high school had a rifle team and their practice range was in the basement of the school.

Somebody looked in a bag, saw a marker, and thought GUN! Then she yelled "GUNNNNNN!!!!"
Find out who she is and make sure she never works with kids again.

11-Year old in Salt Lake brought a loaded gun to school today to protect himself from a gunman. Supposedly his parents gave it to him. Good to see we aren't over reacting.

Just imagine what would have happened if he managed to use it to write a scroll of genocide.

Tragedy averted.

You're kidding, right?

I dunno, in middle school we actually got to use fake rifles in a play.

To be fair, if you were messing around with them during school hours, you'd probably get in trouble.

Was the magic marker sold by a licensed dealer?

Magic markers have no place in school. Our children deserve science markers.

And that goes double for you, Harry Potter. Don't even get me started on your "magic" broom.

This is the kind of thing that follows every high-profile school shooting. Remember when they were banning trench coats after Columbine?

Great, now they will want to ban high capacity boxes of crayola.blog.pennlive.com

There is no reason for any american to carry more than 8 crayons.... Because when the founding fathers were talking about freedom of speech, they only meant with ink quill pens.
