This thread is relevant to my interests. I better post something now though before it's dead.

So many possibilities... a six-pack with 5 dark and one pale. A red for weddings. An ice for just about everything. A Tyrion stout. A Baratheon bastard ale. A Littlefinger weiss with lots of frothy head.

Let's hope they do it right and use a little creativity and don't just do what Denny's did with the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit menu.

I was thinking of a Red Wedding Ale.

How's about you just pour a budget IPA into bottles with pictures of TV show characters on them?

Cos I really doubt a beer snob is going to buy this stuff just cos it's got Dinklage's face on it.

But if I get to vote, I vote for that girl who goes on to become a shapeshifting assassin.

Good to here it is Ommegang on this project, one the best breweries in the US, considering the types of beers they brew. Really hoping for a Flemish Red and an Oud Bruin.

I think the brew you're looking for is Rat Cook Ale, aged in the cellars of the historic Manderly Brewery, based on a long-lost recipe said to have originated in the icy bowels of the Nightfort.

You brought evidence from a television series based on a book series to a nerd fight instead of only referring to the books. Isn't that like bringing a knife to a gun fight?

Fair point - I guess it's because I was rewatching season one last night (to get my wife hooked) and this was in episode 7. I'll find the book quote to post, but yes Drogo was in fact just like every other Dothraki and raped and pillaged etc.

Yeah sure. I agree I'm just annoyed with how the HBO series portrayed him on their wedding night. He was the only man who was ever good to Daenerys and her going a little insane after his death made a lot more sense in the books than on the television series where they made him a raging asshole until they relented with the flashback in her dreams. I'm guessing they got a lot of complaints about their treatment of his character and backpedaled.

I'm not a purist either I don't mind them making changes to the details of the story but they should at least be somewhat consistent with the overall story.

If I may expond on previous statement. Thereb is not much incentive to make the stuff.... good. All you gotta do is rebrand some existing stuff, no more effor then changing the labels in the bottling machine.

The stuff has a built in audience after all, and, it will sell, sell well for a short amount of time. The people buying it will be the fanbois, who may or may not drink it, but will most certainly put it up on the shelf next to action figures bearing the same name.
They expect a good deal of the product will never be consumed, another good amount of folks actually drinking it, because of press releases like this and the name recognition. They'll go.. well, yeah, that was a thing, and move on.
Meenwhile, the brewery has made a little cash withb little effort, and the productions people have kept the "brands" name out there between seasons.
