StoPPeRmobile: LemSkroob: Speaking of keeping money out of corporate hands, anyway to kill the 'whitelist' request on fark?

Only thing I'm having "success" with is "Remove It Permanently." Not liking it.

Drew, I'll whitelist you when you eschew third-party ads altogether and post a written ad policy detailing what ads you accept (and that written policy specifically states no active content, no autoplaying videos, no imitation of system alerts, etc.) Not one second before. I don't give a damn about your reporting mechanism; I want your team to be personally responsible.

I can't take credit for it; that code was made by SmiLA-LI-LU-LE-LO

It's probably best not to discuss how to defeat a site's nagware *on* the site whose nagware you're trying to circumvent; that seems likely to provoke either bans, or an arms race of people developing methods to stop the nag bar with people developing methods to counter the methods to stop the nag bar.

The absolute simplest is to kill Javascript, but the site has pretty ugly <noscript> layout so you will just trade one irritating layout for another.

I thought Drew made all the money he needs from those God-Awful right wing blogs that he parades as "not news".

Yeah, I've been pretty supportive of fark's ad model up until recently when I started getting popups for "scorecardresearch" and when I farked back about them, a modmin replied that they didn't consider those bad ads since they provide important demographic data.  A popup is a popup, guys.
