Cymbals are easy to play. You just pick them up, hold them away from you and cymbal 'em.

I'm really tired of getting put down. If only there were a site I subscribed to that could pick me up? Maybe with pictures of hot chicks in bikinis and/or witty comments? Maybe even some tiny-face Romney shoops?

I don't ask for much.

Sounds like a great analogy to apply to college students who think their fresh new knee-jerking outlook on society and politics needs to be expressed to everyone within earshot of them.

And rotary club attending wives who's husbands are too afraid to tell them that their naive, sheltered outlook on society and politics needs to be kept to themselves.

I could keep going, but nah.

Firstly, cute headline.

Secondly, what is the reason for this? What is the evolutionary advantage of being able to establish, pick up, and follow a beat? Does it have to do with footsteps (safety, recognizing fellow tribemates), communication, language...?
I'm curious. Anyone have any theories?

Interestingly, if you hook a drummer up to electrodes, you don't see any sign of brain activity at all, and if you hook up a guitar player they will just play with the knobs and turn them as far clockwise as they can.
