Bedstead Polisher: Firstly, cute headline.Secondly, what is the reason for this? What is the evolutionary advantage of being able to establish, pick up, and follow a beat? Does it have to do with footsteps (safety, recognizing fellow tribemates), communication, language...?I'm curious. Anyone have any theories?

HoratioGates: Interestingly, if you hook a drummer up to electrodes, you don't see any sign of brain activity at all, and if you hook up a guitar player they will just play with the knobs and turn them as far clockwise as they can.
