What about lobstering? I thought the entire Maine economy was built around the lobster industry.

3 words: World's Biggest Lighthouse

Young newlyweds flock to Maine to see lighhouses because their phallic appearance apparently puts people in the mood. Maine should build the tallest and girthiest lighthouse with a 1 billion candlepower light to attract tourists. If they so desire, they can also construct a large latex covering to protect the lighthouse during the day.

Maine's problems are more geographical than anything else. Kind of tough to fix that.

Maine has great skiing and the sea coast is awesome in the summer. It's a wonderful place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. That said, there are more than 30 states I wouldn't even visit if I could avoid it at all.

How can you not avoid it? I know a lot of people who have never left the state they were born in, and none of them seemed to be trying very hard.

Not from the US, don't know about Maine's fisheries situation but I'd venture the area, like everywhere else, is running out of that.
