Indeed.

Also, LOVELY headline, submitter. But if you did it on purpose, then I'd have to say it was a biatcheap.

I've always found him to be a terrible, terrible actor but he was pretty damn good in that.

Mrs. Nash and I watched it last night. I'd heard bad reviews, but I'll be damned if I didn't laugh throughout most of the flick.

The filter doesn't necessarily work the same with headlines as it does with comments. (Sometimes it does, but not always.) I'm gonna need some official verification from those in the know that this was indeed a filterpwn.

21 Jump Street was possibly the funniest movie of the year. Much funnier than Ted.

2012-12-17 12:49:47 PM
21 Jump Street was totally underrated. Laughed throughout the movie.

"Other movies set in or around Christmas that aren't technically Christmas movies would include, but not limited too...Brazil, Look Who's Talking Now and I would probably also give you the first two Home Alone films.

How are the Home Alone movies not "technically Christmas movies?"

My roomate dragged me to 21 jumpstreet. And I was suprised at how much I laughed at it. Im still thanking god that her always being late made us late for Thats My Boy. She was so pissed I was like "Darn guess we missed the last show lets go to the bar"

He's a good looking guy, but I can't get into him. Kind of bland, I guess. I'm a bigger fan of Tom Hardy or Sam Worthington.

/Not a straight man, so maybe I don't apply.

Wayne 985: Sam Worthington

Acting-wise, he's just a different variety of wood.

If Channing Tatum were to just stand there and keep his mouth shut, not try to talk or act or anything, without clothes on, he'd be perfect.

Ryan Gosling on the other hand, can wear a burlap sack, stacked heels, and a drag queen wig, and I'd still fark his brains out.

I too thought 21 Jump Street was going to be terrible and was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Same. Wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to have some funny bits. Loved the science class part!

Let's see if the insertion of the correct punctuation will help:
Bit by bit, Channing Tatum is blah blah blah.

scottydoesntknow: I don't care what anyone says, I loved him in 21 Jump Street

He needs to be in more movies like 21 Jump Street. That was a great flick and I laughed a lot more than I thought I would.

That movie is going to be one of those films that you show someone and they demand to know why they weren't told about it. It's going to be ignored on most best-of lists this year, but it was one of my favorite experiences at the movies.

It was one of the few films this year that intentionally never took itself seriously. Hell you knew it was going to be good when Ice-T says "We're reviving a canceled undercover project from the '80s and revamping it for modern times. The people behind this lack creativity and they've run out of ideas, so what they do now is just recycle shiat from the past and hope that nobody will notice."

And the end with the cameos was just icing on the cake. Spoiler: Depp and DeLuise only agreed to do the cameo if their characters will killed, essentially ending their run as the '80s 21 Jump Street gang and passing it off to Tatum and Hill.

Indeed, 21 Jump Street was funnier than it had any right to be. Tatum was surprisingly funny and if I'm gonna stop being a straight man for someone, he had damned well better be funny.

Also, bonus Ellie Kemper as naughty teacher

I guess the argument would be that while they take place at Christmas, and that's the whole setup for how he gets left alone when the family goes on a trip, they aren't really about Christmas, or the Christmas spirit or anything like that. Christmas is not an essential element of either film and it could have just as easily been a summer vacation trip that he missed.
Die Hard 1 and 2 take place at Christmas, but I don't know that I ever really think of either when I think of "Christmas movies" in the same vein as It's a Wonderful Life or Charlie Brown's Christmas.

Agreed to the 21 Jump Street kudos. I avoided it in the theater thinking it would be dumb, but caught it on a long flight this weekend. I probably laughed louder than usual because of the headphones, but damn some parts were funny.

/ And yes, Ellie Kemper as the naughty teacher was hilarious

He's alright from the neck down, so the I'd-do-him-but-I'd-have-to-bag-him-first category for me. His face is very plain.
