sseye:

I was confused why someone would want to watch a video of a woman getting a seawater enema through a kitchen funnel and then ride a surfboard while shiatting it back out.

I'll be in my bunk.

Apos: rev. dave: I don't know anything about Japanese politics, but I like their anime. They have some really good epic stories.

Same here. There's one in particular, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, that's quite compelling. It delves into cybernetics and its political underpinnings in a futuristic Japan. Ever seen it?

Some of those political statements are really interesting. They get a little too close to home though when Americans are seen as imperialists.

About as confusing as Portugal's Social Democratic Party or the Democratic People's Republic of Korea...

doglover: mayIFark: Besides the reliance on those egg shaped toys and bushes, I don't know what is special about Japanese porn, hence don't know how it can be confusing.

Heck, I have no idea how any porn can be confusing.

It's confusing because the most genuinely romantic porn I've seen here was about a group of swingers technically raping a girl in a cabin until she enjoyed it and they all had an orgy. It was an actual love story, though.

Meanwhile, the average scene makes you want to file charges. In J-Porn the most used word is "No." followed by "Bad." and an honorable mention to the squeaky noises which aren't a word but no other women on Earth seem to make.

Not to mention that the women in hentai are all 13-year-old schoolgirls. Pedobear should have slanted eyes.

The funny thing about all the Japanese porn I've seen is that all the naughty bits are pixelated. If you have to censor your porn, why the fark would you even bother?

I understand given the way Japanese guys are usually hung, it would be difficult for the average Japanese woman to tell if she's being raped or her panties are giving her a wedgie. "Pappy" Boyington, in his memoirs, said that as a POW in Japan, when Japanese guards saw them showering they would point and say (in Japanese) "Too much". One of the decent guards who spoke English said "I think once you guys win there will be many happy marriages between your men and our women."

Cowboy Bebop's very good. It's not a robots-and-firefights deal. It has a noir-ish quality, with complex, morally ambiguous characters, and the future-tech isn't the focus. It also has nice jazz and blues for the soundtrack.

The DPJ was doing well until they tried to increase the national sales tax. That caused a revolt within the party and the formation of one or two splinter parties.

God, I hate Abe. Last time he was Prime Minister, he ignored economic issues while focusing all his energies trying to sanitize Japan's history text books. Worthless piece of shiat.

The crazy thing is that it doesn't really hide anything. It doesn't "protect" people from seeing the naughtiest stuff; you can still tell exactly what's going on and see the general outlines of things. it's only enough to be irritating to those watching it.

What I love about people like you is that you pretend to know what world politics are like, pretend that we're some sort of super conservative country when France had LePen finish third in their presidential elections, abortion is strictly illegal in several countries in Europe, most of the world actively censors the Internet, racial supremacist parties have active standing in most countries, no one allows as many immigrants at their country each year as the us, we spend more per capita on publicly funded health care and education than all but a few countries in the world and certainly more in total dollars than anyone, we have vastly less severe racial animosity than most countries, and we're one of only a tiny few countries that's actually cutting green house gas emissions.

EyeHateOnlineIdiots: "liberal" as in "neoliberal," online idiots.

Liberal as in real liberal, as it originally referred to one who espoused freedom. Used to know the history of how the liberals were slowly emasculated and finally absorbed into the Labor party and all that, but it was too long ago to recall the details. Nor does it matter except to a confused subby.

WippitGuud: In the most general sense, a democrat is someone who believes in democracy. You can be called a democrat and have absolutely no connection to the idea of the US party.

Sometimes even that doesn't apply. North Korea is, of course, is officially the "Democratic People's Republic of Korea".

This is a bad news for Japan. This will justify China's soaring military budget against the world. Now if China does something weird outside of its border, we can now blame Japanese politicians.

As a person who has relatives in Japan and lived there for some time, it's obvious to say that Japan has never been a democratic country after World War 2.

not exactly, online idiot. The original political meaning of the word liberal concerned whether to allow the rich to do as they pleased with their money. So liberal meant 'I think the rich should be able to do as they please with their money and the government should not be able to restrict the use of their money.'

2012-12-17 02:19:45 AM
There's socially liberal and economically liberal. Liberal parties in North America started as the economically liberal variety but gradually turned into the socially liberal kinds.

Then the entire U.S. political system slid to the right, so at least there the term Liberal is back to where it used to be, but now "conservative" is even more messed up.

A 2010's "Liberal" is equivalent to a 1980's "conservative" and a 2010's "conservative" is equivalent to 1980's "reactionary."

We're also seeing hard-right parties in Europe thanks to the recession. Google Golden Dawn in Greece, for example. Their magazine has a farking SWASTIKA on the cover.

I guess another big European war WOULD help the economy...
