Just another entitlement that needs to be cut.

/sarcasm

I hear its because the 9/11 responders background checks haven't been finished.

We can't let any long term deep cover sleeper agents get their hands on that money.

farking bureaucrats. Nothing else is holding that money up.

Sheila Birnbaum, special master of the fund, said in a published report that most applications arrived incomplete, missing signatures or key details.

Most? Bullshiat Sheila Birnbaum.

Remember this the next time a politician tells you how absolutely urgently essential that we not bother reading legislation and pass something it's for the children/firefighters/troops/women/teachers pass it now now now now now (/the musical box).

Considering how much we've cut aid to state governments, there may not be enough people to cover all the paperwork that comes with processing these. I see that happen all the time at the state university I'm at.

My grandfather is dying while the lawyers battle it out, three different types of cancer and lotsof surgeries over the past few years, my grandmother isn't taking the stress too well. I hope there is at least enough money to bury him.

Is there some way that we could put these guys in charge of more of the nation's healthcare? That seems like it would be ideal.

2012-12-16 12:24:27 PM
It's almost like they want to delay payment until everyone is dead.

To be fair Staten Islanders can barely be considered people in the first place.

I say repeat it until the situation gets fixed.

If they wait long enough, they'll all just die.

PROFIT!

Well that was a highly emotional piece of legislation where plenary power was doled out to Paulson and Bernanke...and all those banker criminals are still walking free.......kind of like gun control.

So is this the bill that the Church of Scientology wiggled their quackery into so that they could continue getting paid for providing sham treatments to Firefighters through their NarcAnon front group?

Can't wait 'till they're in charge of everyone's healthcare. I'm sure they'll do much better at that.

It's cute how people think that providers won't be making decisions anymore, unlike now when hospitals are being told not to do necessary procedures because they won't get paid for them.

/Medicare's great. Nothing like not getting paid for a patient's Urosepsis when you took every precaution to keep them from getting one.

Wow... Someone needs to make a maximum shenanigans gif/jpg. I'd be using it about now. That's completely messed up.

No he didn't. I played softball against him for years

A cop found the baby then handed him off. The cop was the one that committed suicide. There's also rumors it was because he felt he was the one that should have gotten famous

Now if they'd called it the Abe Vigoda Act they might have got some traction.

Impossible!

Politicians would NEVER collect and spend money that SHOULD go toward the "healthcare" of their citizens on something completely different!

This.

Greedy banks overextended themselves? "Oh sure, here's $700 Billion!"

9/11 rescue workers need long-term healthcare totaling $2.7 Billion. "Well now, we better stop and check to make sure there's no fraud* going on."

*Except for the fraud of the lawyers taking 1/3rd off the top

I haven't heard what the kid's bullet grouping was. If there were 8-11 gunshots per victim, sounds like a large waste of bullets. He needed more control.

/Too soon?

Wait until 0bamacare kicks in.

You won't be treated as well as the are treating the 9/11 responders.

if you're working on the fund, why would you want to make yourself redundant any more quickly than you have to?

It's a shame we don't have some sort of universal healthcare that could allow these people to get affordable care.

$2.69997 billion

Have long, bureaucratic delays getting the money out? Get criticized.

Get the money out quickly, and get fleeced by fraudsters? Get criticized, and possibly fired/jailed.

There's a balancing point, and it sounds like this one is erring to far on the side of caution. But there's a reason for red tape, and that reason is crooks. They're everywhere.,
