These are the stunning images which capture the breathtaking beauty of a new world discovered in an ice chasm beneath the Rocky Mountains.

Discover strange and beautiful new worlds, then take an axe to them.

Well, off to Alberta. That's the coolest thing I've ever seen, and I want the opportunity to see if before other people sully it up.

My Atari went away but I too was in that theater. It's not news, it's AncientFarkTM.

Claustrophobic.

There's an ice cave like this in Austria, near Salzburg. They've built a walkway all the way through it for tourists. I visited it this summer - it's pretty amazing.

This is their website. The pictures are equally impressive.

That's actually not far from the truth. "Crow, is it not?"

Locals usually refer to it simply as 'The Crow'. It's probably one of the least appreciated and beautiful parts of Alberta, and considering that includes going up against Waterton, Banff, Jasper, and Lake Louise, is really saying something.

I almost got stuck trying to get out.

Umm that's the only way to not be dead in there... Besides new water fills in the divots every year.

I'd take the trip out of Calgary to check this out.

But I'm fat, lazy, and wanting beer, so there's that.

A FARGIN ICE HOLE!

2012-12-16 05:20:21 AM
There's an ice cave like this close to my country house. The tourists pay to get in from the entrance above the village, and to look at the ice and marvel at the play of lights below. What they are actually looking at are the natural fridges of the village folk, who have dug holes into the cave and put shiat on the ice for refrigeration.

As it has been pointed out several times already, it will be pristine again in a year after the new water from rain and thawing snow freezes over it.

If you'd spend more time in the Politics tab, you'd see that reality is far more boring than screaming outrage about your preconceived notions.
