You can do that by rapidly bending a plastic bic pen, too.

Yeah, my first thought was (barely) burning myself in elementary school after bending a paperclip many, many times.

The worst shiat you could do to anyone in high school was rub the point of a pen real fast back and forth on the desk to get it scolding hot and then stick it on the back of the neck of the person in front of you. WORST-HEADACHE-INDUCING-PAIN-EVER

When I was a kid (and 9 volt batteries were more popular in electronics) I carried a 9V battery in my pocket. Didn't know it at the time but... 9V + a coin can burn the shiat out of your leg.

But would that work with a pipe?

That's a lot of work just to light a cigarette.

The best video illustration to the old saying about the hammer and the nails I've seen so far today.

Because if i don't have a lighter in my pocket, i've probably got a hammer and anvil?

Try:

A relatively soft piece of metal, a rock with a flat-ish surface, and something to use like an anvil, like another rock with a flat-ish surface.

styckx: The worst shiat you could do to anyone in high school

Nah, man, see Columbine.

I liked how he moved his hips like he was farking while he hammered away on his anvil. Must be a correlation.

I forge blades to strike down my enemies way more than I smoke. So it seems reasonable.

power comes from the ground. drive every blow with the hips. focus your energy through the waist and the great muscles of the back. the arms are just there to steer the blow and the hands to make the connection between your target and the ground. Become one with the force that moves through your body.

Otherwise a man could wear himself out doing that shiat.

Ever swung a 3 pound sledge repeatedly? It's like dancing. You gotta get your whole body into it.

There is. Hips are used to generate lots of power(golf, hockey, baseball) in any swinging motion(not intended).

Try any swinging action or motion, the differences can be exponential between no hips and hips.

I remember in class we used to dare each other to lick those batteries. Not pleasant at all.

But i loved my 6x6 scorcher RC car!

I was making hydrogen with three 9v batteries in series, with paperclips at the terminals, and shorted through a glass of water. I'd rested a (water-full) test tube over the hydrogen-producing paperclip while the hydrogen forced out the water. By the time the test tube was full of hydrogen, I noticed that the paperclip had heated up enough to melt the glass of the test tube. The paperclip was embedded almost a half centimeter into the test tube.

/ The batteries were nearly flat by this point, too.
// I'd used too small a test tube, though, the pop when I lit it was barely audible.
/// My students were disappointed by that.

When I was in college I took an industrial safety class. [It was a 300+ level class and was known as the easist A on campus.] During class the instructor was noticiably discomforted and after rubbing his leg a couple of times finally reached into his pocket and threw a 9V and some coins on his desk. We all started laughing at the irony of this happening in a safety class.

This guy also lost my final exam, and I nearly failed the class because of it. I ended up having to retake it right before he turned in grades.
