Congressional aides do not expect her to testify as scheduled at congressional hearings on Thursday into the Sept. 11 attack against a U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador.

Isn't that conveeeeenient?

Honest Bender: Is this really News Flash worthy?

Seeing as she's apparently been ill for the last week or so, yes.

She hasn't really looked good (as in quite ill) for the last year or so

.

SithLord: Maybe all that lying about Benghazi exhausted her supply of hot air.

No hate like Republican hate. She's the new Ted Kennedy. A reliable whipping post.

In other words: fark you.

I hope she recovers swiftly. She has given a lot to this country, and deserves a rest after doing a kickass job as SOS. I'm sure the comments below TFA will reinforce my belief that folks would never stoop to ....

Recovering at home..sure ..that's a good one..the left think nothing

of shirking from accountability every waking second...She is having a good laugh getting out of the Benghazi hearings...

THink the media will go rough on her for this like they would for a Republican? NOPE!!!!

...oh yeah.

Not a fan of her politics, but I give her credit for the way she's busted her ass for the last 4 years.

She's a former First Lady and our current Secretary of State. She's been through hell in the MidEast. She has my respect. Let's cut her some major slack since she's ill.

Pretty much this. I can't blame her for wanting out. For what it's worth, I've always had a personal dislike for her that I can't quite put my finger on any reason for, however I feel she's done a good job at her current post.

People in those jobs never sleep.

There is a plus side to Benghazi: after a decade, two wars, and a trillion plus dollars fighting terrorism, conservatives have finally cared that someone one died.

She's already said she isn't running. Which, given her age, is entirely understandable.

She's 65 now, so if she ran she'd be 69 in the next election and 73 at the end of her first term, making her one of the 4 oldest presidents at election.

As Johnny Cochran might say, "If you have concuss, you can't discuss"

Honest question: What is the current right wing reality about Benghazi, and what does Hillary Clinton have to do with it?

I can see the attack ads now:

"Hillary Clinton says she will be a strong leader..."

Hillary: "I will be a strong leader."

"Hillary says that she can handle the stresses of the Presidency..."

Hillary: "I can handle the stresses of the Presidency."

"But in 2012, Hillary Clinton FAINTED."

Hillary: Faints

"Do we really want such a weak woman leading our Nation? "

Some doofus old white guy shows up "I am McOldracistwhiteguy, and I approve this message."

I think being damned near 70 will be a bigger problem. I wouldn't vote for a 70 year old person to be President of the United States. No way, no how.

Reagan was 69 when he took office. And I'd say he was a little bit more 'off' than Clinton is/ ever will be.

That woman SCARES me.

Honestly, fark her. She ran a despicable campaign in 2008 and I've never really respected her since. I want Warren in 2016, and I doubt she would run if Hillary did. But a Hillary vs. Warren primary would be almost as much fun as the Judd vs. McConnell battle is going to be.

But the more likely scenario is that this makes her unelectable, so Warren can hop right in without offending Democrat royalty.

Huh? Being sick makes you unelectable? Now, she probably should have been resting and drinking lots of fluids, but working too hard isn't usually disqualifying for much of anything.

I'd love to see Warren as President, but I'm be nervous about how electable she is nationally. If the environment in 2016 looks like she could actually win, I'd vote for her in a heartbeat. If not, I'll probably wind up voting for Hillary. I really do think she learned a lot from 2008 and that it changed her, and she's done a kickass job at State.

This is, of course, entirely premature, things may change a lot by 2016.

This is not a good week to be in politics... but I can't help but think of what a fantastic episode of The West Wing it would make.

20 hours in America style. Fiscal Cliff, a senseless massacre of students, middle east issues, Japanese right wing dominance, North Korean sabre rattling...
