Missed a fantastic pass from Yaya Toure to set up the first goal. Toon getting hammered.

Thank goodness for footy today. Need to take my mind off yesterday.

FFPL Report - Round 16

Here is your Round 16 FFPL Report.

I retain 1st place, competence being relative in these matters. Lead opened up to 100pts after Cognitive_Displaysia had a bad round - so bad in fact it was a Toon 1-2 briefly as Obamartins occupied second place for a day. At the end of the round, top four places unchanged and all members of the +1000 club. That club could well expand to 6 by the end of the weekend, or be reduced to 2, dependent on results.

At the bottom, we have live players! Our sole Celtic fan Jebdiahbob posted +10, not a bad outcome for only remembering to make a prediction for the bonus 11th game in the round.

Mitchcumstein1 now up to 40th place after a +60 and JosephFinn badly letting down Team Toon.

Clear round-winner was Norfolking_Chance with a respectable +125, despite a -30 for a bad banker on Hammers Vs Liverpool. Only nathanjr posted a three-figure haul otherwise with Stimied_in_a_Rut in 3rd on 95. Nathanjr backed a Fulham home win against NUFC with his banker, yielding 90pts, or 100 more than the top two, who had both gone for a 1-1 draw.

In deficit we had tom_the_servo_bit_me, Cognitive_Displaysia, DesertMoloch and 30/30 on -30, but the outstanding score of the round was by HaywardJablonski, who posted a shrivelling -95 and was only an insurance chip and one goal in the Manc derby away from getting the worst score possible from the round. Naturally he did this when the round had a bonus game in it to get wrong. I think this is a new record for the league?

I'm nestled in the top 2% overall, our top 5 in the top 10% globally - remarkable considering we started a week late. Our median player - HawaiiE is almost exactly median globally. Jediahbob is around the 80th percentile, suggesting significant numbers of zombies!

Nearly a third of Page 2 is populated by Arsenal supporters, carrying real-world form into the fantasy realm. All but one of the Toon and Spurs fans on Page 1. MUFC fans half and half. 100% of AFC Wimbledon supporters in the Top 10.

Four of 5 Old Country players on Page 1, 30/30 the exception. Italy trouncing Mexico.
Nathanjr the big climber, up 7. HaywardJablonski down 5. Page 1/Page 2 membership unchanged.

Banker Bonus club still a very limited membership. Nobiology still President - but didn't use his chip this round. Might be a good move if deliberate? Now four players on a +10 BB - themanofpa, StRalphtheLiar, JuicePats and mitchcumstein1.

Only nine games in this round - Chelsea doing ridiculous things in Japan.

Meanwhile, as promised: Link - see top row, right end for the happiest middle-aged man I've seen in some time!

Don't worry chuck, we're going to be fine.
Glass half full view - what are we missing out on because of our league position?

A good run in the FA Cup will be a better indicator of our season.

Oh I have no fear of actual relegation. That can wait until February. I just hope we can stay in Europa. You try you're ass off to make it into Europe just so you can play bench players so you can rest players to try your ass off to get back into Europe. Makes no sense to me.

The Thursday-Sunday sequence is over for a while. 32 teams left in the Euro - there will come a point where Pardew will have to decide what to prioritise but a grace period before that.

Positions to recruit to in January?

For me:

CB.
Left mid
Second striker.

Those are net of any sales.

Also - I should point out that the gallery I linked is not safe for Puritan workplaces.

I think ba and (hopefully) tiote are gone. Tiotes a great player but I sort of wish we would've sold him for 25 mil when we could've last January. With the terrible season he's had I wouldn't expect more than 10 for him.

I agree about the needs though. But I think we need two of each of those positions which clearly wont happen.

Morning, gents. Is it too late to abort my Arsenal support and pick someone else? Thursday was pretty much unforgivable.

I think Ba will stay. Knee, and the demands of his coterie make him relatively unattractive: Link Also, all the noises about going come from his agent and not from him.

Tiote hasn't had a good season. I think we'd be better off keeping him unless it is a silly offer and I don't see one coming.

Aaand there is the second. I have this one down as a 1-2 loss.

1) why does NY need a second team?
2) what the hell is a Manchester FC?

Yeah I agree about ba by I think Liverpool are going to really push hard this year and can probably triple his wages. I know he loves the toon but if we're in the relegation zone and hes looking at 100 a week you think he's really gonna stay?

I had this as a 2-1 loss as well. Looking more like 4-1 now.

Because the Red Bulls play in farking Harrison. To go all the way out there, I might as well be a Sounder fan. The team in flushing will be nice, assuming I'm still here.

I've been believing Wenger the last few seasons when it seemed like maybe we are just a player away from challenging for honors, but I'm your boat now. Too many starters aren't performing consistently and the bench is dreadful. I'm sure the players appreciate his loyalty to them when they're out injured, but they're not repaying his loyalty when their contract is almost up. Waiting for FFP to kick in, they're being lapped by their competitors.  Arsenal is no longer a good team. Nobody is afraid of them and nobody should be. Much as I hate to say it, it's  time to blow up this squad.

Hey-ho. Tiote off and they score. Decent performance it sounds like - losing to the champions is no disgrace.

I don't know, I think this was the first one I've missed. I'm guessing it just stays 0 for missed games. Maybe we have to turn on some kind of auto-pick in our profiles as a preference.

I was checking players I thought were zombies and they weren't having scores registered - perhaps some other criteria makes the difference - activity, log-in etc?
