Republicans should stop being racist then.

They're not racists. It's just that all the racists are in their party and watch their news channel. See the difference?

I've seen a lot of butthurt in my 38 years, but 2012 is just laughable. If there were any credible evidence of fraud, or any sort of introspection as to why they lost, I'd be cool with it. But aside from a few outliers, that isn't the case. I almost feel sorry for these people.

Almost.

Evidence that it was about race in 3...2...ah, who am I kidding. There's no evidence of the sort. Just desperate, sad people playing the worn out race card to soothe their butthurt and blame their failures on someone else.

Incompetent is the new black.

Eh, it's a racial issue from a certain point of view.

It's fairly obvious that the Benghazi witch hunt is primarily driven by the reelection of a blah president. It was inevitable that anyone attached to the administration get dragged down with said witch hunt... whether they were blah or not.

I never did figure out why Rice is being lambasted, I mean she did a great job as head of the NSA on 9/11, she stopped those in their tracks. 3000 people didn't die in those attacks and then we didn't go to war in Afgahnistan or Iraq.

She is a true patriot.

I don't think it's race, but I don't understand the hatred that McCain has shown her over the past few months. I can understand playing up an angle purely based upon politics (it's still shiatty, but expected), but he has been relentless in attacking her character. It's sad.

Maybe he's still pissed from 2008, when she said, amongst other things, "On critical, factual questions that are fundamental to understanding what is going on in Iraq and the region, Senator McCain has gotten it wrong and not just once but repeatedly."

Go away, old man.

2012-12-14 01:25:45 PM
The whole reason for the Benghazi-gate was to derail Obama. When that failed, they went after Rice. It Totally worked

It's not that Susan Rice was black that caused republicans to mob on her. IT's because she wasn't one of THEIR blacks. Republicans LOVE blacks...who are republican and toe their line.

those damn crazy racist republicans...

FTA

Never mind that the first black female secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, was nominated by a Republican, George W. Bush. In fact, both parties can lay substantial claim to diversifying the nominee pool for that post. Under Bill Clinton, Madeleine Albright became the first female secretary of state. Under Bush, Colin Powell became the first black secretary of state, only to be succeeded by Rice.

Yep, having that one black friend clearly makes you not-racist and you're free to do whatever the f*ck you want. Cause you have that one black friend and he's ok with it.

2012-12-14 01:45:32 PM
Why is the UN Ambassador the central figure for something that happened to the Secretary of State? I'm still trying to figure out why she's the bad person in all this. She has no authority over...well..anything involved in this, other than reading the talking points she was handed to her. And if reading talking points makes you ineligible for a job, there'll be a lot of people in politics and the media who should never work again. They're still employed, so why her?

There's an interesting tin-foil-hat that this is all to get Kerry nominated (since he was up for Defense but probably wouldn't take it) and then free up the seat for 'ol Scott Brown. If you thought the fight to get Warren in was bad, wait till it's two white guys going at it (please Capuano...PLEASE!)

They're not racist. They just don't like Obama and his cronies... particularly Susan Rice, Eric Holder, Michelle Obama, Lisa Jackson, Van Jones, Michelle Obama's arms, Shirley Sherrod, Common, Trayvon Martin, Michelle Obama's garden, and that black guy in Philly who wore a beret on election day.

2012-12-14 01:54:45 PM
Susan Rice seems underpowered as Sec of State compared to Hillary anyway, but now I'm sure Obama will find a way to give Republicans enough to grudgingly accept their preferred nominee.

See Hagel, Chuck as Sec of Def.

It's easier to call McCain a dick, rather than a racist dick, because then you don't have certain people (as exhibited in this thread) arguing about the minutiae of WHY McCain is a dick, thus avoiding the fact he IS a dick.

I hate semantic arguments.

It's not about race, it's about politics and power. The GOP is going to jump on everything it possibly can to make Obama seem weak and gain their stupid little victories.

Obama wanted something, the GOP had their poutfest, Obama caved, so the GOP gets to proclaim this is a tacit admission of guilt in Benghazi. I can guarantee that is how the GOP will frame this.

It had nothing to do with race.

Nah, they will push him through. He is an old white guy so no one will rush to defend him from "racist" or "sexist" attacks. And a senator so he is part of the club. Plus he says and does plenty of asinine things that make great media fodder. He is the perfect plant to make the administration look bad. The worst that happens is 4 years of snooze like they had with Hil-dog.

1. The opposition to Susan Rice was never about race. It was about trying to score political points one month before an election. Benghazi was thought to be the October suprise that Republicans needed to topple Obama. First, they played up the fact taht it happened at all to show it was supposed to show that the President was naiive and unaware of the dangers of the world. When Dems fought back with the fact that Republicans were the ones who voted down funds for increased security at the Embassies, Republicans began to run with the talking point that Obama never called the attack "terrorism". They began making the claim that the reason no one was calling the attack "terrorism" is that the administration was attempting a cover-up. Obama supposedly did not want the American people to begin feeling like his foreign policy was a contributing factor to the growing unrest in the Middle East, and the reason that an American diplomat was killed in the attack. Then, they got the gift of Rice going on the Sunday talk show. Their primary goal was not to discredit or damage the reputation of Rice, it was to show that the Obama administration had been involved in a cover-up to sheild the public from the fact that this was a terror attack until after the election. John McCain and Lindsey Graham began to run plays from the old Bush administration playbook, where they attempted to get the country all riled up about a foreign policy issue to score political points. It was a stupid talking point because foreign policy is waaaay down on the list of things Americans are worried about right now, but I digress. This was not about race. It was about painting the administration as a group of people who would hide the details of a diplomat's death to make their path to re-election easier. Susan Rice was collateral damage.

Obama knows that Republicans have NOTHING to stand on right now and he's not going to give them a chance to pontificate about this to turn a non-issue into an event. He knows that you can't win in a fight with liars without a strong, independant press and a population of citizens who pay attention to details and care about the process. America has neither.

Why? What, exactly, did Benghazi do to help Obama's re-election? Besides making Romney look like a complete dumbfark, which you can't really plan for.

The GOP establishment isn't racist. It doesn't hate blacks or think they are less equal than whites.

The GOP is opportunist. It's more than happy to leave blacks under the bus that America threw them under. It believes in inheritance of wealth, but not inheritance of debt. Tyrannical redistribution is forgiven once the generational line of inheritance is crossed. It feels forgiven of prior (original) sins and it believes its inherited wealth has likewise been cleansed (laundered) of its sinful connections. It feels no remorse. GOPers who feel remorse move to the left.
