When this black bastard was about 11 months old, we got up one fine December morning to find the tree on its side and the ornaments scattered all over the house.

He lived from 5 Jan 1992 to 5 Dec 2010. The morning he died was a Caturday and was also the day of the first snow of that winter

I've always been a dog sort of guy. But I recently met a jet-black kitteh named "Voodoo," who was already de-clawed. That's always my chief irritation with cats. You can't get up from the couch to answer a phone call without them digging into your thighs. Or your chest when you wake up in the middle of the night to piss.

Then there's the whole furniture thing. My dog digs through the trash and is generally a pain in the ass, but he doesn't actually destroy my sh*t. But he's always glad to see me and is beyond affectionate. Yet this kitteh (Voodoo) is pretty awesome. He just sort of does his own thing while I do mine.

I am possibly bi-curious about the whole pet situation.

It was a Christmas tradition for my mother's Siamese cat, Ming, to wrap herself around the trunk of the Christmas tree and have to pried loose every year. Ming was also good for eating tinsel, which would hang out her butt, sometimes with a turd or 2 strung on the tinsel like ornaments.
We gently attempted to remove them, but every time you gently tugged on the tinsel she'd meow.
Instead we just cut the excess off with scissors and there'd be a little tag of tinsel sticking out of her butt until she used the cat box again.
We had to quit using tinsel.
