Jerry Brown has been the best governor CA has had since probably Jerry Brown 30 some years ago.

Who could ever have a prob with Gov Moonbeam? He's pure, non-harmful, comedic gold. The other states get to make fun of us, while we sit here all smug and stuff, enjoying nearly perfect weather and a year round growing season.

/suck it, lesser states
//which would be all of them that aren't California

I'd rather have Brown as governor than Meh "I'm against illegal immigrants except the ones I hire to work for me" Whitman.

And you can blame Republican Pete Wilson for the deregulation of the energy industry that caused the CA financial crisis in 2001.

people like you are the biggest part of the problem. apathetic know-nothing voters who, when provided a lengthy series of issues, just shoot the messenger. you probably voted for prop 30, and the goddamn bullet train, too.

Says the no nothing that does not comprehend the root of the problem. The ballot initiative process. You want to solve the issues in CA? the first step is is a constitutional convention to clear all the crap in there with spending mandates and then make ballot initiative/propositions illegal. Any thing else is futile.

you're joking, right? i mean, i was born here, i live here, and until last month i was planning on spending the rest of my life here.

but we have the highest tax burden in the nation by far. the highest personal income tax. the highest gas tax. the highest state sales tax. the highest business tax on the west coast. the districts are gerrymandered to hell, despite the recent sham "redistricting" (which was actually packed with democratic activists). tens of billions of dollars of unfunded pension liability. a bulletproof democratic majority in state government so they can raise taxes at will (which they are already threatening to do less than one month out from the election) without a single republican vote, as well as override any governor veto. we are one of eleven states locked in what is referred to as a fiscal death spiral. we just topped the list of the worst run states in the nation for the second year in a row. we have 12% of the national population, but 33% of the national welfare recipients. and i could go on and on, but i'd like to accomplish something today.

in short, there is absolutely nothing positive going on in cali right now.

Yeah. California sucks. Theres nothing to see and nothing to do. The food is terrible. The weather is abysmal. The women are not hot. I repeat: Not. Hot.

You should stay away at all costs.

It's always fun to watch people from loser welfare (red) states full of creationists try desperately to claim superiority over California.

Dream on, li'l patriots...

jjorsett: Move his head aside to get at his prostate? I thought the Teachers Union had come to a sudden halt and his head had gone clear up their butt.

It's a shame that about 250,000 union members run this state (a D-CA legislator recently described the teachers union as a fourth, co-equal branch of government), but, hey, Cali voters are too stupid to notice or care. It's always "for the children" except that it's really for the CTA pensions, until the next election cycle when it's "for the children" again.

I'm sure NY and Illinois union leaders and legislators just look on with awe and envy. Granted, they've got good scams running, but the CTA farking OWNS California.

This headline is funny regardless of your political affiliation. If it isn't you are taking life too seriously.
