I get that. I am trying to decouple the idea that 'pink clothes=gay' by pointing out that there is no intrinsic link between the two. My point is that at most, some people use fashion to express their orientation, but that this likely not the case here. I am actually agreeing with people who are saying that this is no big deal, while still acknowledging the reasons why some people associate certain fashion with orientation (note: correlation does not equal causation).

Fortunately I'm from the old school, mainly because I'm old, but my wife and I have the traditional roles in place.
I don't ask her to do things considered "men's" work. And on the same token, she doesn't ask me to do "women's" work. But now that I'm retired now I do help out more in the house which is OK fine by me.

Heh, regarding 1 I'd rather have NO one wear a majorly pink piece of clothing. Sure, pink accessories or pink trimming / secondary color on a shirt, okay, but a full pink piece? Yuck...

And regarding 4, I don't care which person gets the other's name, but what's going to happen to the kids? It can get messy.

Nothing bad happens to the kids, actually. Lots of cultures have zero difficulty dealing with this without their civilization collapsing.

I grew up with a Mom who worked loooong ass days at a optician's store and a dad who worked 2 days off 2 nights on shift work. Needless to say, Dad did school trips, laundry, vacuuming, and cooking - all the mom stuff. He really excelled at cooking and today does 95% of it because frankly, my mom sucks in the kitchen.

My husband can't boil water. He comes from a farmer family where men work hard and do nothing when they come home, and women work hard and then work hard again. :)

My 3 year old son cooks with me! His favourite meal is helping me prepare lemon/garlic roast chicken (he likes stuffing the bird). I just bought him a play kitchen for his Santa gift, from Ikea, and he is going to flip. To me, it's not the least bit girly (or boy-y for that matter) to learn to cook. The girl baby plays with John Deere tractors too. My husband's farmer grandma is probably rolling over in her grave.
