The time where American political philosophy was closest to the tenets of National Socialism would have been in the Manifest Destiny phase from 1840-1912. It was at that time a liberal phenomenon, opposed by the Whigs, then America's conservatives.

Thank god for that Liberal Phenomenon, oopps sorry didn't mean to offend with the "G" word... Thank Obama for that Liberal Phenomenon. If we could all now just embrace more big government socialists from the past like Adolf Hitler then and only then will we all be happy.

Hint: hitler was farther right than even a pig ignorant farkwit like you. The name of the party had nothing to do with the political slant of the movement.

You know, much like when the GOP names their organizations dedicated to ensuring American serfdom "freedom", etc etc.

Hint: Hitler was a Big Government, Big Control Socialist, he helped invent the party for gods sake!! You have been brainwashed, step away from your circle jerk, step away from Jon Stewart and MSNBC for a minute and read a book. Conservatives and Libertarians are for smaller government, less government control. Read: The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich and you will agree with me.

Yeah evil liberal MSNBC taught me conservatives are authoritarians.

Cause it's the liberals always trying to kill freedom. *snicker*

Oh wait, no,it's pretty much always conservatives. In fact, freedom killing authoritarians is basically a synonym for Republican.

Who are the new second class humans to the GOP this week. America told you it couldn't be black folks anymore. Then America told you it couldn't be gay folks anymore. Even the GOP is talking immigration reform, so it can't be Mexicans.

Please come talk to me ...

Hitler wasn't really socialist. For that matter, he wasn't fascist, in the economic sense of the term. The only thing that really mattered to Hitler was the unification and defense of the German People (in caps). Everything else was towards that goal, or in reaction to some unintentional outcome it lead to. Fascism was just the easiest means to achieve that.

They just kept complaining, very loudly...on and on and on... They were quite oblivious to how loud and obnoxious they were being.

I had a similar experience on a train to Berlin. A Canadian girl was going on and on, quite loudly about how "Canada was the best, America sucks" every other sentence out of her mouth was about Canada. You get obnoxious people from every country. It just tends to be easier to pick out the obnoxious ones who speak a language you know.

My experiences in Europe (admittedly many years ago) was that in many places they are afraid of water pressure in their pipes any stronger than a baby's pee. You can get wet in the shower, but getting clean will take you a while.
