I guess if Fark ever needs a SKIN tag we know who to call.

I was about to ask where in the hell these people are in the Western world, but apparently 100,000 Americans suffer from this condition. This is apparently just a helluva bad case of it, coupled with what I'm assuming is nonexistent health care and wildly unsanitary living.

100,000 more reasons for me to be so grateful I was lucky enough to be healthy.

sad that this couple is so happy, if Dad has Neurofibromatosis, so does his kid. Hope it's a mild case.

It's a 50% chance, not 100%. See my link.

Wow. I'm not real compassionate as a rule, but these people being able to find each other, and happiness is humbling. I hope this child remains free of the disease her dad has and I wish them well. Still seems like a sad existence. But what do I know. I'm sitting here watching Kanye in a farking leather skirt raising money for Sandy victims with cheap bourbon and chili on my table, and I thought I had perspective. Then I saw this.

The very second that kid popped out without a spray tanned bologna face, he suspected that he might not be the father.

Sort of makes my everyday whining seem trivial, but really they should have known better than to be born in India and deformed no less.

It's rural Afghanistan. She's like 20 years younger than him and their marriage was arranged by families. She had no choice in the matter, but a husband with a deformity is likely the best a girl with one leg can expect to get. He's probably just surprised he ever got to marry, I doubt he expected it'd ever happen looking like that. Not saying their marriage sucks but "happiness" is not the expected standard in some places.

I'm torn between saying, "that's the kind of wife you get when you have no face" and, "that's the kind of husband you get when you have one leg". Well, they're happy so it's something to be congratulated.

Still, I'm feeling 28% better about my life after seeing that.

No Such Agency: It's rural Afghanistan.

India. Up in the hills bordering Pakistan. Like a lot of people in mountainous country, you have a crazy quilt of different cultures, ethnic, and linguistic groups there. I'd guess the marital customs in Jammu aren't far out from those nearby, but these people don't necessarily have much affinity for those in Afghanistan (who themselves suffer from a chronic inability to reconcile their ethnic groups).

The wife seems to have pretty decent teeth, which is surprising. Better than a large number of Americans anyway whom have access to pretty advanced dental care, like a toothbrush and floss.

Likely, she doesn't take Coke with her burger and fries. Sugar is pretty cheap in nearby Punjab (or was when I lived there) but it might be much more expensive that far up the road. They're bound to be a pretty robust people up there, being on the Darwinian Health Care Plan (i.e. the weak go into the ground). Forget her teeth -- I bet that lady is physically stronger than most Farkers.

As a result of this article, someone will arrange free surgery for him.

He'll turn out to be a pretty good looking guy without the skin flaps, and will decide he can now do better than his current wife.

She'll subsequently go to jail for attacking him and the kid will end up in an orphanage, ultimately to be adopted by angelina jolie. Tragedy all around.

And kanye will continue to make millions.

A FATHER with no face who feared his unborn child would inherit his shocking condition is celebrating after his wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

It's a real trial of Job, that God would inflict upon them a daughter.

I'm more concerned that the poor guy is only 32 and looks to be mostly gray and bald!
That's a hard 32 in India!

"I don't earn enough. No parent would want their child to suffer any health problems, but they do not want them to suffer financially either." I don't want to leave my daughter but I don't have much choice and I will have to leave in the Spring. I have to earn money to support my family and this is the only way I can," he added.

Salima said Latif has been a wonderful husband and believes he will go on to make a great father.

I'd say that belief is pretty well-founded.

Because this condition totally gets overlooked in this country, right?

GFY.
