Since you will be at best a Futurama-style head in a jar, you'll probably need to enlist a little help with that.

I don't understand why they are still not in the rock and roll hall of fame. Far lesser bands are in it. Is there some behind the scene politics, or did geddy refuse to suck some execs Wang or ???

Well Geoffrey, Archbishop of York died on 12/12/1212 so that's something. And the Children's Crusade was going on so you're right about the holy war.

Jann Wenner hates that kind of music, so since he's the publisher of the most influential rock magazine out there it just kinda snowballed from there. It's also why Deep Purple isn't in the hall, or King Crimson of a bunch of similar bands. Not that they're the same, but exactly the same reason Kiss ins't either.

But we got three out of the ballot I submitted numerous times on their website, so I can't complain. (No DP, Joan Jett or to a lesser extent, Paul Butterfield Blues Band.)

Well, 1212 is quite close to a number of notable happenings:

1209 - supposed foundation of the university of Cambridge (others in Paris, Oxford, Bologna, already in existence)
~ 1209 - St. Francis begins to preach
1214 - Battle of Bouvines secures much of French royal territory for the French monarchy (previously, much of France had been under the English crown)
1215 - Magna Carta issued in England

So, not all holy wars.

I like that "13th month" comment. Here in Quebec, we have such wizardry.

This schmuck negotiated a work contract so outrageous that they had to invent a 13th month to pay him so it wouldn't show up on the regular accounting.

I wonder what they would call that month, Corruptember? Assember?

My takeways from the 1912 piece:
1. They hyphenated the word "to-day" back then. It looks weird now.
2. There was something they thought was significant about "4-11-44" that is completely lost on me. Anyone?

No. I believe he meant the difference between the Gregorian and Julian calendars. The date 12/12/1212 in the Julian calendar would not be the same day as on the Gregorian calendar. Converting the dates of every event in history a few days in either direction would be too much confusing work we just leave it be. The difference would only really be noticeable when two countries records are using different calendars and it's the 5th of March here and the 2nd there.
