No subby, Glenn peaked in 1990. You know why.

I really hope that means we'll be running out of Glenn Beck soon...

I'm trying to figure out how TFA could have possibly posted less context. I guess they could have used just the picture.

In any event, I have no idea wtf is going on except that apparently Glenn Beck made a word cloud and that the writers at the Daily Beast suck at their job.

Here's the "article"

Wow, just wow. This might be peak Glenn Beck.

Yes, let's be terrified by agenda-laden terms such as "communities," "responsible," "development," and "sustainable."

While we're at it, please commence panic over the coming UN tyanny signaled by "triple," "One," "bottom," and "work." Because work is a term conservatives ought to fear, right?

That's it. The article really only serves to drive traffic to Glenn Beck's website. This journalist finds Glenn Beck really stupid. I find a "journalist" who feels the need to follow Glenn Beck and report on it to the rest of us even more stupid.

It links this (warning: GlennBeck.com page view).

I dunno, it's a list of most often-used words in Agenda 21 discussions. Not sure what the point of all this is, though.

The headline has the context of the word cloud. The insidious "Agenda 21" which threatens, apparently, the very sovereignty of the US of A accomplished through such scary concepts as 'sustainability', 'communities', and 'work'.

Looking the the wordle seems innocuous unless you speak herpderp. Luckily I was raised in a practicing Derp household so I can still remember some of the language.

Sustainable: The weak and the dissenters will be culled from the herd! Forced sterilization! Baby licenses!

Sustainable/Responsible/Preservation/Environment:No more styrofoam! No more coal! Booga booga! Gay little electric cars! SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IS BAD FOR SOME REASON!

Development/Revitalization: THINGS ARE CHANGING AND I AM ANGRY ABOUT THAT BECAUSE IT IS DIFFERENT AND THEREFORE BAD!

Urban: Black or Hispanic.

Development: The urbans are going to get free Obama houses and we will have to pay for it.

Communities: Liberals. (This was not true before 'community organizer' came to mean 'Communist Training Camp'. Now only liberals live in communities.)

What I drew from this word cloud is that Agenda 21 is about improving people's living conditions. I may be mistaken. I'm sure that somewhere in there, there's a nefarious UN plot to take over our country and expel us from our homes and allow poor Africans to occupy them and whatnot.

Close.

The Book Synopsis:

A violent and tyrannical government rules what was once known as America. The old, the ill, and the defiant all quickly vanish. Babies belong to the state. Against all odds, one young couple risks everything to expose the truth. But are they too late?

Just a generation ago, this place was called America. Now, after the worldwide implementation of a UN-led program called Agenda 21, it's simply known as "the Republic." There is no president. No Congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom.

There are only the Authorities.

Woken up to the harsh reality of her life and her family's future inside the Republic, eighteen-year old Emmeline begins to search for the truth. Why are all citizens confined to ubiquitous concrete living spaces? Why are Compounds guarded by Gatekeepers who track all movements? Why are food, water and energy rationed so strictly? And, most important, why are babies taken from their mothers at birth? As Emmeline begins to understand the true objectives of Agenda 21 she realizes that she is up against far more than she ever thought.

With the Authorities closing in, and nowhere to run, Emmeline embarks on an audacious plan to save her family and expose the Republic's true agenda.

Definitely conservative on the use of logic.

The best part of this new Beck scam was listening to one of his callers telling him they were going to stop listening to his show if he continued with it. It is so crackpot that even his serious listeners are offended by it.

My dad was a lifetime member of the NRA before they went full-derp during the W administration. They still call him from time to time. He says they invited him to pay for a ticket to a banquet to hear Glen Beck speak. He told them he wouldn't pay a nickel for a jar of warm piss to pour on Beck if he were on fire.

They haven't called back yet.

2012-12-12 03:20:14 PM
The Republicans' biggest strength is the Pavlovian conditioning of their base. You can see it in all the sinister liberal terms Glenn Beck writes on his chalkboard, in Newt Gingrich's list of control words, in Frank Luntz's cartoonishly spin doctor "It's not what you say it's what people hear" approach to strategy. The communicators of the conservative movement acquire power by training their followers to fear the words themselves. What the words actually mean is beside the point, when you hear a words like "social justice," "union," "liberal," "socialism," you're supposed to think Communism=Hitler=Democrats=Bad.

It's why instead of evaluating their policy positions, the knee jerk response whenever they lose is "We needed someone to better communicate our values." It means they couldn't condition enough people to fear the key words needed to win.

Hell, I'd start a bidding war for that jar of warm piss. In fact, I'd probably pay hundreds of dollars for that jar of warm piss, if its purpose was to be poured over an on-fire Beck.

I wouldn't pour it on him, though.
