I inadvertently hipstered myself yesterday, and felt like a douche. Inspired by the recent "awesome hot chocolate" thread and recipes, I decided to make some, but go whole hog and make the marshmallows as well. Apparently, brown rice syrup works better than corn for homemade ones, and the only place near me that sold the stuff was whole foods. At checkout, the girl asked "What is this?" and I replied "Apparently it's the best for making homemade marshmallows. It was pretty obscure, and I hadn't heard of it before."
