Obviously, rig some sort of sling.

It was an interesting article.

It's amazing what civilizations were able to accomplish before portable entertainment (e.g., books) was introduced. Nothing to read, nothing to watch on TV - hell, might as well spend 20 years moving rocks around for the sake of worshiping an earthly ruler or a sky-wizard.

Rednaxel: I read the whole article, seems pretty cool. I did have to wonder about this though:

FTA: "Before the arrival of Christopher Columbus, Copacabana was a sacred site where the patron saint of Bolivia, the Virgin of Copacabana, was worshiped. "

Pretty sure they werent Catholic before Columbus.

Before the Europeans showed up, the natives "worshipped" (revered) Pachamama - the creator "goddess".

The Catholics couldn't stop them from their practices, so they compromised - change the name to "Virgin of (insert name here), add a few Catholic symbols (while keeping mani of their own) and the natives were pacified.

Happened pretty much everywhere the Catholics "conquered".

If you have enough coca leaves anything is possible.

muck4doo: Hurray for them moving a 10 ton boulder. The largest stones at Puma Punku weigh well over 100 tons.

Actually, they used reed helicopters to move the really big ones.

And the ancient indians used saws and drills made of these same amazing reeds to cut stones like these:

It's between Bolivia and Peru
Lake Titicaca, oh Lake Titicaca
With waters tranquil and blue.
Oh Lake Titicaca, yes Lake Titicaca
Why do we sing of its fame?
Lake Titicaca, yes Lake Titicaca
'Cause we really like saying its name!
Titicaca!

I was gonna say the reporter/OP just liked saying its name, thanks for taking the sting out

What are the Finger Lakes, Alex?

1) Dig a Lake Titicaca-sized hole on the other side of the boulder
2) Pump all of the water out of Lake Titicaca and into the hole
3) Fill the hole where Lake Titicaca used to be with the dirt you dug from where it is now
4) Ta-daaa
