Speaker John Boehner's conservative purge secret scorecard criteria list

Wat?

"I'm starting to get a bad feeling all over again," Huelskamp continued. "We had a closed-door meeting between [President Barack] Obama and Boehner in July or August and that turned out really bad for Republicans but for the country too - we had a downgrade. They had a recent meeting behind closed doors again where they started purging conservatives."

WTF?

2012-12-12 10:04:13 AM
So a GOP group called the Republican Study Committee has created a secret list of Republicans in Congress who have drawn the ire of the Speaker for their views, and that list forms the basis for who gets committee chairs?

Huelskamp said, "there were more than the few of us" who were purged who the Speaker retaliated against for being conservative. "There were folks who didn't get committee chairmanships, there was one who didn't get a committee chairmanship because he was too pro-life, there are folks who didn't move up, there are folks who didn't get what they requested."

Oh, so being "conservative" (in this case, apparently defined as someone that pissed off Boehner) is why Tea Party Republicans got passed over for choice seats.

To give Boehner 98% of what he wanted, one of the byproducts of those negotiations was a credit downgrade.

I think (hope?) it's a combination of the angle and the fact that she's wearing a shiny undershirt under that sweater. Otherwise, it looks like her waist is like 8" top-to-bottom (based on where it looks like her ass pocket is, behind and under her left forearm), and we are dangerously close to learning the secrets held within Coulter's pants.

In other news, pissing off your boss is not a good way to get that promotion you wanted.

Seriously, isn't this basically the whip's job? To scare intransigent party members into toeing the party line? To "whip them into shape" if you will?

Pretty much, yeah.

This whole whining comes down to the fact that the Tea Derpers thought they were in control of the GOP and are now realizing that their fringe efforts are no longer wanted in the GOP.

It's going to be gloriously amusing when they finally figure out that it's happening wholesale and that they're being shown the door. I imagine they'll finally turn on the GOP completely and we'll have our GOP civil war.

It's more like these people, who openly and loudly proclaimed that they didn't know how Washington worked as a selling point, are finally beginning to learn, and realize that instead of being anointed as the new ruling faction, are being told the Congressional equivalent of STFU N00B. The problem is that getting rid of the obvious nut jobs from the committees leaves only like two or three Republicans left to sit on them.
