"Rape Me" is after all the spiritual successor of "I Saw Her Standing There."

That might be interesting.
Then again, I thought Lou Reed fronting Metallica might be interesting.

The Beatles and the Pixies were Cobain's favorite bands.

Both DG and PM are incredibly talented musicians and songwriting machines, but Nirvana can piss off as far as I'm concerned.

Dave Grohl is the mirror universe Ringo.

Check the facial hair.

Cobain loved the Beatles but he did say he thought McCartney post-Beatles was an embarrassment.

This could be cool, subby? Could be. Definitely worth a watch, I really can't imagine what McCartney's interpretation would sound like.

And this is hilarious...

Ahhh. So is it cool to hate Nirvana and the Beatles for their success again? This is getting confusing.

Yes, only the most snobby elitist of hipster can dislike the sonic gold that is post-Beatles McCartney: Jet, Band on the Run, Live and Let Die, No More Lonely Nights, My Brave Face, Freedom... You know, those anthems that defined a generation. Is there anything else I'm forgetting? Oh, right...

David VanDriessen: You know, this could be a real positive experience for you guys. There's a wonderful and exciting world out there when we discover that we don't need TV to entertain us.
Butt-head: Huh huh huh. He said, "Anus."
Beavis: Entertain us, anus. Oh, yeah.
David VanDriessen: Have you guys heard a word I've said?
Butt-head: Uh, yeah. Anus.
Beavis: [chuckling] Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I heard it, too.

This. He and Grohl are close actually. Grohl is rumored to be on Paul's new ablum after Paul mentioned to him that he would have played bass in Crooked Vultures had Grohl asked. Being a big fan, Dave was kicking himself.

I love Paul McCartney and The Beatles, but lets not get crazy here. JPJ was a much better bass player and was awesome in TCV. Where is their next album btw?

That being said, I would still take that band with Paul in it.

Would prefer Paul playing with Pearl Jam, Vedder/McCartney duo would make my ears die from joy

Gunny Highway:

Indeed.

I picked up about 6 new great band recs. from that list when I first read it.

Kleenex
Raincoats
Saccharine Trust
Wipers
Tales of Terror
Half-Japanese

/waaaaaaay late to the party, I'm aware. But good music is timeless

I have nothing against either band, but McCartney is past the age where he should be performing rock songs. And I don't mean old people should never play rock, even a few years ago he could probably pull it off, but the last time I saw him he sounded very grandpa-y.

There's no way in hell I'm watching that. Paul McCartney mumbling through Smells Like Teen Spirit more than Cobain used to? Does he need the money? Did Ringo dare him?
