Yahoo news is the best.
"News" stories on the 5-12 tips HR won't tell you, to the cost of owning a dog (provided you buy from a breeder and go crazy from there).

It's kind of sad, though, to watch Yahoo Sports slide down the same terrible path.

Then why is my yahoo mail continually hacked by some 'bot that grabs the Yahoo address book and fires off a spam to everybody in it? This has happened at least once to every one of my friends that is on a Yahoo Groups board of one kind or another. Yahoo claims they know nothing about it. My Av software can find nothing amiss. A friend suggests it is accomplished by "injection" somewhere upstream from me.

Any time I mistakenly start feeling any sort of compassion or empathy for my fellow man, all it takes is a few minutes in the comments section of Yahoo news to get rid of that crap.

Seriously, people, these morons drive on the same roads you do. Some of them handle the produce in the grocery store. Gives me a cold chill just thinking about it.

Since this thread will go there anyway, I will say it first: I like Yahoo Mail better than Gmail.

Yahoo is for old people. My in-laws use Yahoo Mail.

What with Gmail, why would you even bother having anything else? Except maybe an email account tied to your own domain. But even then, you can hand off email service to Google...

and how much more spam do I get now?

I run Yahoo mail in the Windows 8 default desktop/start box reserved for it (or Gmail or Hotmail), and it doesn't look anything like either of the examples shown in TFA.

Is this the thread for snobbish email addresses?

I sometimes play a little game with the comments section. I like to see how long I can go before some commenter blames obama or politics in general for whatever the article is about. My longest record is 15 comments.

Awesome, I'll just check my yahoo email after I'm done literally dusting cobwebs off my @aol.com address.

Continuing headline: Yahoo! comments still incongruent, badly spelled.

I'm at the verge of leaving my Yahoo (Rogers) account and moving entirely over to Gmail. Their spam filters used to be very sharp, but in recent months have let in more junk than I care to think about.

This users' poll of NCAA basketball for the last week of February 2012 should paint a pretty clear picture of what kind idiot is using Yahoo:

Does FF/Adblock/Ghostery/Donttrackme completely bork Yahoo mail for anyone else? It's to the point where I need to use IE to get anything done in Yahoo...

I agree that Yahoo Mail is better than GMail.

...Although my main email address is actually at Lycos.

Yeah, that's right. Lycos.

I'm still with Yahoo (a good 15 years now I think) and will probably be for a very long time as it's still working fine for me...

I stopped caring about my Lycos one after they kept screwing it up over and over, switching from system to system, not being able to log in due to server issues, and losing everything I had in my account. As I used it as my "only for purchases" account, I no longer could trust it and moved over to the yahoo account.

Gmail is a pain to use, feels cheap and limited... barely ever use it.

I like yahoo mail except for the spam filter which sucks donkey balls.

So I use Gmail.

2012-1997 = 15

I'm that off as I know that I had my account a few years before I met my wife, which is over 12 years ago, so not far after they started it.

derp..

I'm sick and that didn't come out right....

"I am not that far off "..etc.

Seriously, I wish that I'd have kept more archives as the oldest stuff that I kept are the first emails with the woman that is now my wife.. and those are in 2000.

I create my imfallen_angel web name at least 2+ years prior as I used to go to one of the first chat rooms sites called Freetown, and create my account then, but had a prior one with another name which I closed as I no longer used it.

Actually, I think I've had this acct since sometime in 1998, since I had it well before I moved to where I live now in Mar '99.
