Angry Drunk Bureaucrat: Hah! "Caucus".
Therion: "And there's always friction within a party, between your conservatives, your moderates, even your liberals."Won't someone think of the Republican liberals?
incendi: If you don't have a side of the bargain that you can actually deliver, then you shouldn't be the one bargaining.
Karac: You can call Nancy Pelosi an evil socialist battleaxe all you want, but you have to acknowledge that at least she was damn good at her job.
Sock Ruh Tease: Boehner's medicine will make all his problems go away.[www.thebettermousetrap.me image 305x200]
Dimensio: How is this preventing negotiation?

I thought this one had outlived its usefulness.[imageshack.us image 400x277]Bonus: You know where I sampled the orange for that text from, right?
Muta: It his "majority of the majority" policy that is kicking his ass. He won't let anything go to the floor for a vote unless the majority of the Republicans support it. If he works with all the Representatives who represent all of America then Boner would have an easier time finding a consensus.
sprawl15: That's his second biggest problem. His biggest problem is that he's Boehner who couldn't negotiate his way into free waffles on free waffle day.

If he works with all the Representatives who represent all of America then Boner would have an easier time finding a consensus. The funny thing is, we've all been begging for a third party to arise, and it sort of did, and now we hate it because we're incapable of effectively running a coalition government under the current rules.
incendi: Sometimes I think it'd be nice if we could have a "vote of no confidence" that would result in the dissolution of the house of representatives and new elections.
StopLurkListen: We do. Every two years. And incumbents have a 98% re-election rate.
MindStalker: No, its more of an internal coup. Imagine if your living in a Dictatorship and wishing a second party arises so you could have a Democracy. Then a second party appears, it kills the Dictator and sets itself up as the new Dictator. That's called a coup, not Democracy, and not really a second party, just a replacement.

lilbjorn: My Congressman once explained the difference between a cactus and a caucus:"With a cactus, all the pricks are on the outside."
