(Cincinnati Enquirer)   Think your city council is a joke? This one has a mayor facing 10 years in jail, one member who couldn't be sworn in because he was already in jail, and one that got her seat based on a coinflip   (nky.cincinnati.com) divider line 17

That city cracks me up, everytime they pop up in the news it is something worse than the time before. The guy that lost the coinflip tied his votes with that chick and his wife forgot to vote.

Hey, almost my town made Fark (next town over). Not in a good way (as NickelP mentioned, most of the news out of there just makes you shake your head in wonderment/befuddlement) but it made the news. Any publicity is good publicity right, right?, Bueller? Bueller??

Sigh, at least the Enquirer hasn't found out our local head scratchers....

How many of these people have nicknames in quotations between their first and last name?

NickelP: his wife forgot to vote

Yes, she forgot. That's the ticket.

Leave the toilet seat up again, mutherf*cker!

TMFA: Ballou, who won the seat on a coin toss after tying with Robert McDonald for the final seat in the election, had given conflicting reports about her plans to take office. Ballou said her husband got a new job and they were moving out of the city, but she will serve until they move.

Government is not a temp job, dumbfark!

Yeah, the last thing we should want in government is experience and competence.

It may not be the last thing we want, but it's the last thing we get. Becoming skilled liars and thieves is the only thing they seem to gain from their "experience".

Heh, you and I must be almost-neighbors. Every time I see the Cincinnati Enquirer icon on FARK, I know it's going to be something excitingly weird about local politics.

I live in one of the river cities. My inlaws live down there in Walton. I would agree with everything you said.

Coin toss? A duel with matched pistols would be more interesting and make would sure the contestants are serious.

It looks like they press-ganged this group of jokers at a Dunkin' Donuts.

OK, City Council time, we'll take, hmm, tech nerd whose competence peaked with Windows 98, grandma Doris, chubby girl, tall beardo, and uh, you, guy in the corner... NO, you don't have an option. Oh, and Jessica, I'll have a large coffee with one sugar to go, please.
