doyner: So if she wrote it under a pen name then doesn't that mean she wasn't trying to have it attributed to her?

Anyone find out how she was outed in the first place?

The description claims the book is "Chelsea Handler MEETS Fifty Shades of Grey" ...

"His treachery runs deeper than you know...by fould craft Saruman has crossed Chelsea Handler with Fifty Shades of Grey, he's printing stacks of them in the caverns of Isengard..."

So, you can just write a book and sell it on Amazon as a digital download and not have to go through a publisher? Awesome...I have some erotic novels/ semi-autobiographical novel involving a boy, his dog and a jar of peanut butter.

I guess this guy is lucky that writing thing worked out for him, because he might have been fired from his job teaching English for writing about a young girl's dirty pillows:

NashMcNash: My wife is both a high school English teacher and a writer. It's really scary to think that something she writes during her down-time could get her fired from her job. Granted, she's writing fiction stories based on Greek mythology and not erotic novels. Safe, I suppose.

Good thing there's no sex in Greek mythology.

Why do so many ugly people read/write erotica. Don't they realize that it creeps the rest of us out?

That article read like it was written by a high school English student who isn't doing very well in class.

Lsherm: The book is about a school teacher (naturally) that gets even with her cheating husband by having affairs with two former students.

As long as they are former students...

Yeah, it's not like it's Beezus and Ramona slashfic or something.

Why would anyone check out the author before reading smut? Do you also limit your self to porn produced by guys you find attractive?

Inflatable Rhetoric: Lsherm: The book is about a school teacher (naturally) that gets even with her cheating husband by having affairs with two former students.

It's fiction, so it does not matter.

What's next, getting fired for "impure thoughts?"

Well, like everything else, context is key. If you're writing a book about a heroic Ephebophiliac who sleeps with underage boys to get back at her ex-husband, it's not illegal, but it's certainly creepy. Especially if you're someone who works with kids. "It's fiction" is a cop out. Imagine you had a co-worker who only wrote fictional stories about breaking into your house and killing you. Perfectly legal, but still farking creepy.

I mean, the Supreme Court ruled in 2002 that fake child porn is legal provided there are no real victims, but if my kid's teacher is like "wanna see my art?" and it's nothing but fake child porn, I'm raising my eyebrows. Whether or not it's a fireable offense is certainly debatable, but I'd still look at them sideways.

IamAwake: No one is suggesting she be sent to prison - first ammendment doesn't so much apply. First ammendment doesn't say anything about an employer having to retain someone under any particular circumstances.

That said, I can't see why she'd not think writing an erotic book with "A+ Schooled" on the cover, about a teacher that has sex with students (former or not) would cause problems. Why "former" students? Why not someone they met at a grocery store, online, in a bar, etc? She's paiting students as sex objects of a teacher. She, as a teacher, shouldn't do that and expect that everyone would think "oh, well, it's just fiction!" That's silly.

Oh, fiddle faddle. Like someone would actually write an erotic fanfiction about having sex with students whilst being a teacher who was basing the book on her actual desire to have sex with her students. That's just crazy.

I can make money off the erotic fiction I write and post online

fug. okay. I gotta look into this, my stuff routinely gets 4.8 out of 5 stars where I post it.

My lesbian stories get over 4 stars on Literortica. My cross dressing prostitute stories average one and a half. I guess fiction is more fun than real life
