At the $500 donor level, you were placed on certain campaign distribution lists that included information not generally disclosed to the general public, which a media organization could monitor to determine if there was anything newsworthy.

I myself have used this same tactic in local elections, and would forward the Dear Valued Doner e-mails to my guy's campaign.

Of course I did not give $500 bucks.

It's nice to see that Obama's landslide electoral victory hasn't changed Hannity's talking points.

mark12A: Whoop-di-freakin'-do. The rest of the MSM are overwhelmingly Democratic and give their contributions to the Democratic party, as well as suppress stories unfavorable to their Obamessiah.

It is without question that Fox News is rightwing. And the entire rest of the media is in the tank for the Democrats. The fact that Fox News is dissident news drives the MSM batty. They *thought* they had total control of the media spin until Fox news showed up.

Yeah that MSM sure had egg on its face on election night when everything they predicted came to pass. Fox getting it completely wrong and having a pig man have a pants-shiatting tantrum on live tv just drove them insane.

Spade: Stop watching TV news. It's bad for you.

I agree with this sentiment in general, I mean the most I ever watch is that gorgeous Robin Meade on HLN when I'm at the airport in the wee hours, but what does that have to do with "The O'Reilly Factor?"

doubled99: So even though he supported Obama, he still can't criticize him or democrats in general?

No, we shouldn't listen to him because he's a zombie.

He says Obama supporters are zombies.

He's an Obama supporter.

Therefore, he's a zombie.

So we shouldn't listen to him.

Spade: make me some tea: Of course. These people are actors.

Yup. They all are.

Seriously, O'Reilly, anti-gun farkwad that he is, is really a very smart guy. Harvard I believe. He could easily and honestly debate everybody on his show.

But he knows shouting and controversy gets viewers. Hell, I know more lefties that watch his show than righties so they can get mad about something.

Stop watching TV news. It's bad for you.

The Harvard thing is questionable. From the Wiki:

In 1995, having established himself as a national media personality, O'Reilly was accepted to Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government; he received a Master of Public Administration in 1996.[25]

Anyway, it seems every time he goes up against Jon Stewart, Stewart wipes him out. His tried-and-true method for "winning" debates is to intimidate his opponent, which isn't really winning.

What the fark are you talking about? That has nothing to do with the point. This person is obviously saying stuff on fox news not because he believes it to be true but that's what they expect him to say.

You sound like a crazy person.

This is actually not very surprising, considering what happened to me last week. I was working a shift in the ER when they brought in a total stoner wearing nothing but bloodied, shredded bath towels. I figured he was just some liberal college kid who fell into some bushes while on a bad acid trip, particularly since he kept screaming and babbling about Xmen comic book characters or somesuch nonsense. You can imagine my surprise when I found in his clutched hands several Romney-Ryan 2012 stickers, wadded and matted with hair.

I gave him a few stitches and a tetanus shot. While he was coming down, just to mess with him, I whispered in his ear: "because you don't have insurance, I need to report you to the IRS for for Obamacare tax reasons..." That was pretty fun.

Must be why most of them also seem to go right most of the time. I guess the criteria for being "liberal media" is to suck the right's cock for only 90% of the time instead of 100% of the time.

When a co-dependent woman is shown by others that their husband is a liar, instead of getting mad at her husband they will instead get mad at the person giving her that information that her husband is a liar and more desperately cling to her lying husband.

Lets see how a Fox News fan takes this news:

toraque: This is actually not very surprising, considering what happened to me last week. I was out shopping for bath towels when a campaign fundraiser guy started demanding I contribute to getting Romney elected, only the election was already over and Obama won. Don't you know it's over, I said, but he kept growling and tugging at my bath towels and hissing at me. Let it go, man, I said, but I think people all around me misunderstood because people were screaming and stampeding and pointing at him, and then Animal Control showed up because apparently he wasn't a republican, he was a rabid wolverine that had somehow gotten 'Romney 2012' stickers all over him and the next thing I know I'm in the hospital with shredded bath towels and needles sticking in me everywhere. It wasn't much fun.

So yeah, I can totally see this happening.

I wouldn't expect any Fox viewers to get too riled up. They didn't make a peep when it was revealed that Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal was a major shareholder of NewsCorp.

Then again, they probably hate Obama more than any wealthy Saudi prince.

close, but it would be those same four people, staring, mouths agape at the knowledge that they have actually thought about what Libertarianism actually entails, then realizing that it is probably the most idiotic idea of how to govern ever conceived...

I agree that it's "toe", and sympathize with the depth of your angst at the incorrect "tow". But you are incorrect regarding the origin of the phrase.

Wikipedia wouldn't lie to us:
It is commonly and erroneously thought that its origins lie in the British House of Commons where sword-strapped members were instructed to stand behind lines that were two sword-lengths apart from their political rivals in order to restore decorum. However, there is no record of a time when Members of Parliament were allowed to bring swords into the Chamber. Historically, only the Serjeant at Arms carries a sword as a symbol of his role in Parliament. There are loops of pink ribbon in the Members' cloakroom for MPs to hang up their swords before entering the Chamber to this very day as a result of this rule. In fact, there were not any lines in the Chamber in the days that gentlemen carried swords.
