Besides the benefits against colds, beer's "been shown to increase bone density and reduce risk of heart disease, Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. Protein in hops will even make your hair and skin shinier."

That's why I like the Blue Pants Brewery. Less chance of dementia.

Unfortunately, a single can of beer doesn't contain enough humulone to make a difference, Jun Fuchimoto, a researcher for Sapporo, told AFP. You'd need to drink 30 12-oz. cans of beer in order for there to be any effect

Ugh. Whiskey is instant heartburn for me. And I generally don't like hop bombs, I like to taste my malts.

Read up on the history of beer consumption in the western world. Everybody from kids on up drank nothing but beer instead of water until the mid 1800's. It's a wonder we've progressed this far...
