Whar the "liberal representatives?"

Whenever I catch Fox News on at work (which nearly every TV is tuned to all over the building), I only see the Fox News announcers interviewing Republicans, conservatives, or former members of Republican administrations.

Yeah. But, some of those people "understand" Liberals, and are therefore qualified to tell everyone what Liberals are thinking or planning to do.

Themselves?

How many Democratic Presidential and/or Congressional candidates were employed by Fox News this last election cycle?

How many "grassroots" "liberal" populist movements were actively organized and promoted by Fox News?

RexTalionis: Conservative Media Are Is Not the Problem

Someone should get this man a grammar checker.

While popular usage has "media" as a singular noun, it is properly speaking the plural of "medium". If the sucky blog is saying that none out of Fox News, Fox Business, the WSJ, the NY Post, the Washington Times, the Rush Limbaugh Show, The Sean Hannity Show, Examiner.com, RedState.com, and their own sucky blog are the problem, then using "media" as a plural is perfectly legitimate.

/unlike, say, the rest of that sentence, or their perpetual claim that there are no conservatives in the media
//when referring to "the media", however, it is generally taken to be singular

2012-12-11 09:05:57 AM
FTA: "Fox News portrays itself as "fair and balanced," and while many of its hosts are conservative, a fair number are liberal, and even on their commentary shows, they almost always have liberal representatives present the left's position on issues they're debating."

From their point of view, somebody has to provide the comic relief.

The last person in FOX's studio that stood his ground and told FOX the truth got his microphone cut off.

Its a biased outfit full of liars and professional politicians pretending to be a news network.

The fact there's also reporters in the building who sometimes get allowed to talk is irrelevant. The people calling the shots are 100% in the tank for Republicans.

2012-12-11 09:09:24 AM
So...

1. There are NO conservatives to be found anywhere in the so-called "MSM", hence Fox News' raison d'être.

2. There ARE liberal commentators on Fox shows, thus PROVING Fox lives up to its name.

Got it.

/and those commentators/guests never ever get cut off if they stray from the script either, right?
//and I'm guessing all those bold-faced lies that have given both Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert very lucrative careers are just a way to balance out the MSMs truth bias?

Liberal commentators on a massively conservative propaganda network? So you're telling me that they're just sell-outs, then? And as far as having a 'liberal' guest on the show, do you mean that token guy who looks like an idiot and who gets ridiculed and belittled on a regular basis?

2012-12-11 09:25:48 AM
Meh. It's derpy, but not derpy enough. The article feels rushed as though they knocked it out between sessions of masturbating to old footage of Operation Desert Storm.

He is. Thing is, he still has to report stories in the order that Ailes and Co. direct him (i.e., whatever makes a Democrat look bad leads, and the GOP's own f*ck-ups are mentioned later if at all.)

I'm still waiting on Shep to come out gay on the air.

That's what is so frustrating about this type. Let's face it - they're bullies. Statements not jibing with your narrative? Shout them down! Rush patented this.

I could live with Fox pushing their propaganda if they only allowed some sort of contrary air in that vacuum. But they don't. Therefore, I call bullsh*t.

Why even bother pretending? We all know FOX is a right wing mouthpiece. That's what the people who watch want. That's why anyone with any media savvy laughs at FOX's motto. Why not just own it instead of pretending to be whiny sissies constantly getting pushed around by the big bad MSM?

Indeed, many liberals are so certain that only their views are legitimate and that contrary ones are dangerous (they often lead to violence) that they flirt with the notion that vocal opposition ought to be muzzled -- as witnessed by campus speech codes, their crusades against so-called hate speech and the Fairness Doctrine.

I don't think that means what you think it means.

They don't get liberal representatives. They either get people akin to "blue dogs" who agree with 90% of what they're saying or a stark raving madman so far out in left field he's in the parking lot. If, by some strange twist of fortune, they get someone who's actually a mainstream liberal able to properly articulate and argue their positions, they either cut them off or shout over them.

Goddamnitsomuch. It's really, really starting to grate on me how everyone and anyone that disagrees with the far right morons in this country is a "liberal". I guess this asshat didn't get the memo about losing the elections badly due to extremism and alienation of every demographic in this country save one. That's all I need to hear from some shill to place them in the same boat as Rush and Beck.

A boat that I would then set adrift, and target with an Archimedes death ray.
