I love how in Asia they turn *everything* into a frickin' artform.

I only ever got some indistinct cloud from the cotton candy man as a kid. Dudes had no skills like this guy. :)

I once bought some tofu to cook at home and the second largest ingredient was gypsum.

/It did taste kinda like reconstituted powdered rock

Actually Russia. Sochi area Black Sea coast or thereabouts. The cart has "cotton candy" and "50 roubles" written on it in Russian.

/don't speak Russian, but did read the comments on the Youtube version while staying at a Holiday Inn Express.

That's pretty much standard for tofu - gypsum is used as a coagulant in the tofu and that makes it a primary source of dietary calcium in eastern Asia.
