Though having said that, here's a list of games in which the QB managed to compile a 0.0 rating. Eli Manning is even on that list, for a game against the Ravens in 2004 where he went 4 of 18 for 27 years with 2 INTs.

They were the highest scoring position on my fantasy team, by a lot (41 points total).

And I'll say that the first pick of Skelton was the best team play ever - Wright pulls it from Fitzgerald's hands to pop it out, Thurmond III dives on the ground after it and bats it up, Wagner catches it and returns it for a ton of yards.

Nah, pulled 'em after they went up 45-0, so only 13. But yeah, using the backups and we could've easily kicked a couple of FGs. Like that supposedly some people were complaining about going for it with a pass play on 4th and 23. C'mon, it's using a backup, we could've easily made the FG to run up the score...the goal there was to try to get the first down to kill more clock.

And his opponent in that game put up a 28.0 rating, which would have to make that one of the worst two-team QB performances in a game in memory. And yet neither one took The Jake last week--it was won by Breesus, of all people, thanks to his 5-INT performance.

As those of you who read the NFC West blog by Mike Sando know, he does a "silver linings" column after every game outlining the things the losing team can take from the game and be good with. Here's Arizona's:

The facts: The Arizona Cardinals fell to 4-9 with a 58-0 road defeat to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14.

The upside: Even the worst defeats tend to feature a bright spot or two.
-The Cardinals took three or fewer sacks for the fifth week in a row, another sign that young tackles Nate Potter and Bobby Massie are improving. Arizona has allowed 12 sacks in its last five games, down from 25 over the previous five.
-Arizona finished the game with a higher third-down conversion rate than the Seahawks posted.
-The Cardinals' completion percentage was up more than 16 points from the previous week.
-Patrick Peterson intercepted a pass for the third week in a row. He has six picks this season.
-Arizona allowed one or fewer passing touchdown for the ninth time in 13 games. This was also the ninth time Arizona held an opponent to less than 55 percent completions.
-Punter Dave Zastudil had a 40.2-yard net average.
-LaRod Stephens-Howling had a 38-yard kickoff return.
-Quentin Groves had a sack, two quarterback hits and a tackle for loss.
-Andre Roberts had a 24-yard reception.
-Arizona moved up from ninth to eighth in projected 2012 NFL draft order.
Looking ahead: The Cardinals are home against Detroit in Week 15.

Man, they really made him scrape the barrel to finish that one.

I'll never understand people whining about running the score up with backup players.  They're backups!  They're playing to prove they can be starters one day.

My favorite indicator for how much Gailey hates CJ Spiller is when Fred got hurt yesterday, the very next play he puts in Tashard Choice. And then CJ doesn't really even see the ball after that.

Favorite play of the game - Patrick Peterson laying on Robert Turbin (?) after a 3rd down stop and then jawing when he was pulled off after a good 5-10 seconds of unnecessary languishing on top of our guy, then pointing a yapping some more while he went back to field the punt; and then muffing the punt horribly for a Seahawk TD.

Ben Roethlisberger won a Super Bowl with a 22 rating. Well, he was on the winning team, anyway.

I am sometimes surprised that there aren't more lopsided games in the NFL, then I only have to look to last weekend where the Chargers beat the ever living crap out of my Steelers to know that no matter how bad a team might be, their vastly superior opponent is just waiting to shiat the bed!

Yes, Seahawks rule. Against a team that had no interest in playing thanks to Wisenhunt's fine on Dockket.

Wisenhunt is doing a Bill Callahan impersonation these days, coaching a team that despises him and refuses to play for him. Hmmm, and just like Callahan, he inherited a good team and it has gone downhill ever since. The rumors seem to be that, just like Callahan, he is the most demoralizing figure in their locker room.

And guess what? Nothing will change in Arizona, he may even keep his job. Bidwills are tight and it would cost 5.5m to send Ken back to wherever his incompetent ass came from. Oh yeah, the AFC.

Let's see if they lay down again this week. I hope they do. In fact, I hope the offense secretly calls a play in the huddle that sends the biggest eligible guy they have careening out of bounds into Ken Wisenhunt so hard that the headset becomes a permanent fixture in his skull so he can hear wtf I am saying which is that YOU SUCK AT LEADING MEN KEN!

Who the hell wants to see Larry Fitgerald suffer a career ending injury next week? For what? I desperately want to see Larry go somewhere that might be able to capitalize on him.

That somewhere will NEVER be Arizona.

Fark the Bidwills.

Fark Wisenhunt.

Well, that's not quite right. The second-stringers aren't supposed to be trying to score as much as they are supposed to be trying to end the game as quickly as possible. When you are up 45, the goal of the team changes from "Trying to put more points on the board" to "Trying to keep anyone from getting injured".

They're supposed to be trying to play the best they can to keep they're jobs. On Flynn's case it might be to showcase himself for a trade...possibly to Arizona.

2012-12-10 08:15:28 PM
It was just a weird game. When Seattle had the ball around the two minute warning in the first half, they were clearly in "ok, we made our point" mode and were just trying to chew some clock/end the half, and when they're forced to punt Peterson fumbles it away again to give them good field position. "Okay, retards, enjoy this TD pass to Zach Miller for making us work again".

Plus, Matt Flynn is a lucky f*cker that Sidney Rice wasn't hurt when he hung him out to dry on a pass over the middle with the safety waiting for him....in a lopsided game.
