That was obviously just a fluke

It looked like a fluke of an encounter to me.

Whatever it was, I'm just glad that whale turned out to be dorsal.

I'd have pooped in the scuppers.

Getting past the puns for a second I think this is actually an incredibly interesting video.

Keep in mind that I'm no whaleologist, but those don't look like the flukes of an Orca to me. One: I'd put them at 3m across or so, which is absolutely gigantic for an Orca, and two: you can see bumps on the trailing edge of the fins, which I don't see on any GIS for Orca flukes. To me, they look a lot more like these.

My completely non-expert guess is that squealing kayak woman got between a pod of killer whales and a tasty humpback whale snack.

Looking again, I think I even see a brief flash of a humpback's dorsal fin in the middle of the frame at 00:08.

In your scenario, are you the whale or the kayaker?

Kayaker.
Worst I've had to put up with was an amorous goose.

Pretty sure I don't want to see what's going on below frame there.

Kayaker needs:
1. Less wailing.
2. More whaling.

At 00:18 you can see an Orca rise out of the water in the background.

Yeah... that's what makes this a really interesting video. There are clearly two whale species interacting in the video. An Orca clearly breaches when you point out, and the fluke that hits the kayak is clearly a humpback's.

It almost looks to me like the humpback is chasing off the Orca and the kayak gets in the way.
