Considering that Fark has become what it once abhorred, knowing that this kind of thing still outrages people kinda makes me feel like Fark has a chance to go back to its good ole days

Hm. You know what sort of ethical analysis I'd be interested in reading? An analysis of the ethics involved in taking one poster's comment on a single thread and attributing it to "Fark" making a statement about some topic. And then using that rather sweeping generalization to write an article that you're hoping will generate page views for your own website -- profiting, in a sense, from the very behavior you found so offensive. I'd be interested, basically, in knowing whether deliberately misconstruing the origin of an "offensive" statement in order to increase reader share is ever, on its face, an unethical practice.

I'd also be interested in knowing, purely from a speculative standpoint, of course, whether there might be any ethical issues or quagmires around submitting the very article that you wrote to the very website that you pulled it from in the hopes that that very website might send readers your way. Not for any particular reason, I mean. It just seems like a grayish area to me, and I'd value someone of intelligence and legal learning to help illuminate my understanding.

"Child rape"? Really? Because I was 15 once, and I sure as hell wouldn't have considered banging her as "child rape".

Yeah, but the perp is a model. That changes everything.

You're characterizing one comment as "all of Fark," for one.

I am not characterizing one comment as all of fark. If that was the impression that you had then I apologize that you did not read into my statement correctly.

I was less than 18 once.. Would not have considered it rape...

But maybe I could be a victim and sue somebody now?
