Yeah, the sh*tty teams go that route - the Colts were way smarter about it - they got the coach to have a deadly, but curable, disease and got to milk the thing for a pretty damn good season. And Pagano's probably going to live for many more years!

Eh, I find "reporting" on this far more deplorable than anything Bob Costas says at halftime.

7-1 in the last eight games with a rookie QB and mostly shiatty o- and d-lines. It really is the best explanation.

Sean Payton was going to be suspended anyway - should've pretended he had some type of cancer, too.

Harbaugh had his heart issue and went to the hospital; Niners came out and smacked the hell out of the Bears. Unfortunately for him, he reported quickly that he was okay and it wasn't a big deal, so it was okay to lose to the Rams.

That was preseason, and they did get off to a 3-1 start despite clearly being terrible so maybe the death mojo only lasts for a few weeks, depending on type of death. OD- 4 weeks or so, Murder-Sucicide-1 week, DUI/Manslaughter-1 week and counting, Curable Cancer- Whole season...

And so on

I really think both teams have figured out how to best utilize their future franchise qb's. Its up to the players to develop them and the coaches to encourage proper play. Luck and the Colts have surpassed everyone's expectations and the Redskins are playing better every week. Redskins have to depend on some Luck (punny) to get in the playoffs, and Colts have to hope that Luck doesn't throw too many picks in the playoffs. I'm just sick of people trying to say one is necessarily better than the other at this point.

I'll go one further. A super-rookie who plays on a team with a horseshoe as a logo is named "Luck." If you wrote that in a movie script you'd be told "thaaaaat's a little over the top. Tone it down. It'd be like, I don't know, naming the starting QB of the University of Texas 'Colt McCoy.'"

As for giving the edge to Luck I take the long view as, at this rate, RGIII is going to be knee-less in three years.

Yeah, I saw the hit he took yesterday. Time winding down and he was running toward the sideline, then decides to cut in for 5 extra yards. Its a stupid decision. I think he might be learning...maybe.

They're one game out of a playoff spot, with the Titans, Chargers, and Bills on the schedule. They could actually make the playoffs. Marinate on that.

The Seahawks don't need people to die to win games.

You wanna marinate on something, marinate on this: The Cleveland Browns have a shot at a playoff spot. Even though it's a slightly harder road than the Jets, they could win out and, if every other team ahead of them (Bengals, Steelers, Jets) and beside them (Chargers, Dolphins) finishes 8-8, tiebreakers would send the Browns to the playoffs. (The only tiebreaker any team holds over the Browns are the Bills beating them, but they get wiped out by the Jets' tiebreakers over them.) Which means, if things work out just right, the Sunday Night Football game for Week 17 just might be Browns vs. Steelers.

Yeah, but the Jets' chances are actually somewhat realistic. And they managed to get their whole December against the few teams in the league that are worse than they are.
