My mother mentioned this story the other day. Even though I don't drink and don't especially respect the practice, I find I don't actually give a shiat that they're drinking on site after hours. I'm not sure I'd especially care if they were totally wasted during actual official meetings. It's not like they're driving heavy machinery. I can respect the (former) mayor for taking a stand and resigning, but it's just not something that has me worked up.
