Don't worry, guys, this time Cutler isn't injured, and he'd never go from 8-5 to completely out of the playoffs by losing the last three games.

Bears Hate Thread #26. Yay.

FTA: Bears must 'win out.' What if they don't?

Then they don't. Life goes on.

I saw that last night. I said 'no way the Jets are still in it.' Then I suggested that they remove them from the list just to make it easier on everyone.

As for the Jets, this whole situation is setting up perfectly for a Sanchez injury and Tebow leading them to the playoffs.

As a Vikes fan it blows my mind that teams don't just say F-it and play goal-line type defense against us on every play. Especially without Percy.

Ponder will not beat you, Purple Jesus will.

Problem is that the LAST one we traded up for a kid who is simply not working out.

Heh. There was a play last night where Detroit had the Packers in a 3rd and long. The Lions dropped to a prevent package. I immediately said 'The prevent doesn't work. This is a first down.' Sure enough, the Packers got the first down.

Why do teams keep running this soft defense? Pin your ears back and go after them.

/The facts were these

Packers need one more win.

Bears need 3 straight.

Vikings can't lose to Packers in the Ice Bowl.

Packers look they should win considering how each team has played the last few weeks. The Pack is looking a little sharper, but can't depend on Cutler just giving them the ball.

Meanwhile, in Chicago:

This off season I'd really like it if they just worked on Peterson's throwing. They don't even need a quaterback, just direct snap to him and maybe 20% of the time he can throw a quick slant pass or screen or something.

The bears did just that. They had 9 in the box nearly the entire game. What more do you want them to do?

Hm. This might work. He'd be a faster more durable Mike Vick, though.

Jim from Saint Paul: Rick Spielmen knocked this draft out of the park.

Problem is that the LAST one we traded up for a kid who is simply not working out.

A couple of teams (Seahawks, Vikings, Buccaneers?) just killed it this year at the draft. Others (Niners) failed miserably.

Seahawks Draft -

1st Round - Traded back, picked Bruce Irvin (8.5 sacks) and picked up a 4th & 6th
2nd Round - Traded back, picked Bobby Wagner (Starting MLB, over 100 tackles, 3 INT and a couple sacks) and picked up a 5th & 7th
3rd Round - Picked Russ Wilson (Starting QB, 2500yds 20TD 9INT 8-5 record)
4th Round - Picked Robert Turbin (backup RB, 1 100yd game)
4th Round - DT Jaye Howard (has not played)
5th Round - LB Korey Toomer (On Practice Squad)
6th Round - DB Jeremy Lane (special teams standout on punt coverage, played sparingly in nickel/dime packages)
6th Round - DB Winston Guy (serving suspension for PEDs, remains on roster)
7th Round - OL JR Sweezy (has impressed with transition from DT, Tom Cable loves him)
7th Round - DT Greg Scruggs (Made team as late 7th rounder and has played in D-Line rotation, acquitting himself well)

Might be one of the best top-to-bottom drafts I've ever seen. Kiper gave the draft a C-, tied for lowest amongst all grades given.

At this point Dave friggin Campo would be an upgrade. I see Lovie hiring too many friends. I dunno. Just angry that another season is in the shiatter.

When they were talking about Cutler being taken out of the game to have his neck looked at, I automatically assumed he was concussed again. That's how much I believe the Bears' injury reports.

Anyway, Jay sailed one or two passes yesterday, but he was hardly the main reason they lost. This team is just getting old and bad.

And as we already know, grading drafts before anyone plays a snap is stupid. I think grades shouldn't be handed out until 3 years later. Of course by then no one really cares so it doesn't matter

1) Dropped passes leading to turnover on downs and interceptions.
2) Being forced to punt from 40yds out because your placekicker is injured, multiple times.
3) Having your O-line made up of individuals who are wildly inconsistent - Webb has shut down some of the top rushers in the league by himself, while becoming a turnstile for some of the most average rushers. The O-line itself is a hodgepodge, with replacements everywhere due to injuries.
4) Dropped passes.

Hester dropped a pass that could've easily yielded a touchdown.
Alshon dropped a touchdown pass that bounced out of his hands.
Kellen Davis.
Kellen Davis.

I think the #1 factor in the game yesterday was the loss of Robbie Gould during pregame warmups.

AFC 6th seed race:

Cincy: @ Phil, @ Pit, vs. Bal
Pittsburgh: @Dal, vs Cin, vs. Cle
Jets: @Ten, vs. SD, @Buf

The Jets, as said on M&M this morning, can win or lose to any team any week it seems like. So, while that schedule seems extremely winnable for them, they also could go 0-3. But, assuming they win out and go to 9-7... Cincy & Pittsburgh haven't set the world on fire as of late, and I could see them both going 1-2 (Cincy beating Phil, and Pittsburgh only beating Cin).

Honestly.... you could make a case for SD going 3-0, ending up 8-8, and winning a tie breaker with either Pittsburgh or the Jets if Cincy goes 0-3. Not a very compelling case, but a case. Of course in that case Cleveland, Miami or Buffalo could pull off the same thing, but, not likely either.

This farking guy...the only receiver in the league, who when his QB is scrambling, dead weights his fatass in the middle of the field trying to post up a defender while calling for the ball. What a complete farking tool.

SF plays at New England this coming week. If they lose that game, and Seattle wins out, Seattle will be the NFC West champion. And Richard Sherman and Tom Brady could go back to be BFFs again.

I like that scenario.

As a Bears fan, I have come to fully expect the team to fall off a cliff in December because that's what happens when the average age of your team is 80.

Without Bennett, they might. But "Let Marshall get his plays, and keep him out of the endzone" is a pretty viable strategy for any defense that can stop the run. Particularly if they need to manufacture pressure through scheme.
