Sometimes when you spit into a wishing well you get what you spit for.

This would be one of those times.

How odd is it that this news would be brought to us from a site called "Slicing up eyeballs"?

/Yes, not very odd all.

While I like the Donelly-era Breeders, I would really like a Belly reunion.

Thanks subby. That period in my life was also filled with PJ Harvey and other alternative bands. Thanks for the various and nostalgiac earworms.

Love Breeders, though Mountain Battles was a bit weak. Would kill for a Pod era live album.

Also for a new Belly and Veruca Salt albums.

I saw them open for Nirvana in '93, they got booed so unmercifully Kurt had to stumble out and ask everyone to chill out. NNot a fan then, not a fan now but good for them I suppose.

Heh, I feel that way and my friends and I were a good ten years younger (at least) than everybody at the Pixies reunion show.

Great effing show, though watching folks relive their youth was a... well, *a* sign, of Things To Come for sure.

This is good news. Last saw them for Mountain Battles, which was a pretty good album, at Metro in Chicago. Killer show. The Deals can sing their balls off and had great energy. Lot of fun. I expect more of the same.

I saw them open for Nirvana in 93 and they completely had the audience. "Cannonball" was big on the radio at the moment.

Half Japanese (the first band on the bill) did actually get booed.

Question: is there enough heroin in the Hindu Kush to keep the Deal sisters happy?

That's kind of unlikely. One of Tallulah Gosh just won Britain's most prestigious prize for the visual arts, and another is the Senior Economist in a major UK Government department.

I think it was more about being overly excited about Nirvana. This was at the height of their popularity. But yeah it was pretty weak to boo an opening band who's actually not bad.

2012-12-10 07:59:12 AM
I dunno. I think they were going for a female Pixies sound but it felt contrived and phony. I liked a few cuts from Pod and Last Splash tho. Meh there have been many worse bands.

I only know their song "Cannonball" but it's a great song. Back in the day the Deal sisters were so hot, but now they look like hardy women from Maine. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I remember Cannonball, but I wasn't much of a fan of their album. I heard it once back in the 90s. I'm old.

But listening to Cannonball again, the best part about this song was the first 30 seconds or so, the rest just doesn't sound as good as it used to.

So far I have dug out:

Fun fact:
As a 14 year old, I masturbated more than once to the Breeders' Cannonball video.

You may be wondering how that is possible; what I POSSIBLY could have found in that video to be spankworthy....

Well, that was my 14 year old self's talent -- I could masturbate to just about anything as long as a woman was in it.
