Winning one, just one, would be a good start. A Lamar Hunt Trophy without a Vince Lombardi Trophy to go with it simply tells everybody that you were the first loser. Ask the Eagles how easy it is to win a Super Bowl:

The Texans will add more patches for any future division titles and conference and Super Bowl championships. The idea is to "kind of build a tradition the longer you're here, the more patches you get on your jacket," Barwin said.

"Coach, I'm really excited about the team, and I look forward to covering the jacket with patches."

"Great! By the way, we traded you to the Dolphins. But you can keep the jacket."

Love that idea.

Little sh*t like that goes a long way toward promoting loyalty. Plus they'll make great collectibles for people when half the players go bankrupt in a few years.

What were they wearing before, Leno jackets?

/So, so sorry for that.

Kinda surprised it was Shaun Cody's idea. I would've guessed Antonio Smith. Since arriving from Arizona, he's been the guy with a flair for the theatrical. He really ran with that whole Ninja Assasin thing. I think it's funny he says he went to the Shaolin Temple on SNF during the player intros.

Anyway, the jackets are a little meh but so what. At least they're acting like a team. They don't need any selfish cancers mucking things up. The defense is really young and will be playing together for a while. It's starting to wash the nasty taste of the last 10 years out of our mouths.

I'm really pumped for Monday's game but Brady is going to get surgical in that backfield. The LB's are down to 3rd stringers but will be a nice test to see just how much depth the defense has. At least Joseph is coming back.

The Chicago Blackhawks issued these team jackets back in the 1960's. They could sell a boatload of them to fans like me if made available in team stores, regardless of whether the NHL plays this season or not.

Players wearing their jacket backwards will be deemed concussed, and will have to undergo the NFL's enhanced-concussion testing.

Pats fan here; I HATE the fact that ALL that matters are SB rings. The Pats have absolutely dominated the AFC east for 11 years, and it'll always boil down to some taped coaching signals and two losses to those damned giants. 11 YEARS of excellence!

TiiiMMMaHHH: 11 YEARS of excellence!

You'll always have 1985 season and 86 Superbowl.
"In their victory over the Patriots, the Bears set Super Bowl records for sacks (seven), fewest rushing yards allowed (seven), and margin of victory (36 points). New England took the quickest lead in Super Bowl history with Tony Franklin's 36-yard field goal 1:19 into the first quarter after a Chicago fumble. But the Patriots were eventually held to negative yardage (-19) throughout the entire first half, and finished with just 123 total yards from scrimmage, the second lowest total yards in Super Bowl history, behind the Minnesota Vikings (119 total yards) in Super Bowl IX.".

Actually your legacy might go down closer to the mid-70's to mid-80's Raiders. Both had 3 titles in 7 years, both displayed questionable ethics at times and usually fleeced the competition for players.

/Have fun with that vision.

*released

Half a team hits free agency every year. You're lucky if 25% of your team lasts two years.
The Bengals released a WR today that had over 200 yards and a TD in 8 games. Not bad for a rookie in the 3rd WR spot.

The Titans and the Jags suck beyond repair and the reason the Colts are contending this year (Wayne, Freeney and Mathis (Andrew Luck is overrated at 16 ints)) are not going to be around forever. I have a feeling the Texans will dominate the division for a while.

It's a way to build a little loyalty, not through the jacket itself but through the camaraderie. And seeing as how Barwin is probably their most notable free agent heading next offseason and he's one of the ringleaders for this, that's worth something. Personally, I think they should go full prep school for their team photo--tennis shoes, khaki pants, white shirt, black tie, letterman jacket. Coaches in Bike shorts.
