The zoo's elephant expert herded away curious zoo patrons.

The stupid elephants were too busy sucking their own trunks.

It was. Later it was renamed after a dead rich lady.

I hope they give the kid a lifetime membership.

Got it. Yes, names of dead rich ladies do have a particular ring to them, especially when they're in the signature field of a check with many zeroes.

Baby humans are kinda ugly-ass. Not as bad as, say, baby vultures, but definitely uglier than any cat, dog, or ungulate species.

It is the Burnet Park Zoo. It's the Rosamund Gifford Zoo at Burnet park.

/Wonder if the baby will be a terrible shame and scar children from the sights, close for years then come back awesome.
//Still have bad times with zoos, and I become one of them thar biologists.

Cool. I'd be honored to be involved with helping a woman give birth. I'd only hope to have the presence of mind to ask others to run for a bag, knife or scissors and string to tie off and cut the umbilical cord while preserving the placenta.

OK, every word of that was weird and/or creepy.

I'll say.

A woman gave birth on a wildlife path at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse on Friday, delivering her baby girl with the help of zookeepers not far from the bear exhibit.

I don't know. Perhaps it's because they were near the bear exhibit. If it had happened in the aviary, it could have brought tears to our eyes.
