I've seen about six in the commented tab alone.

Sad thing is, it's not even good or funny satire. It's just a feeble attempt by a pathetic blogger to inspire more hatred against an already hated group.

Sons of Anarchy has made them damn-near likeable.

Their likeability is back to zero every year when they crash Austin for the ROT Rally.

Yeah, you're right. Snopes says false. But I had to check.

That is some Harvard Graduate level pranking. I should have known that it was too advanced for bikers unless they have Simpsons Writers writing for them.

Duct-taped inside a fast-food dumpster? It sounds like a PETA activist's own personal niche in Hell.

I guess it was just too good to be true.

Is that it? When I read this and saw the headline for the next story about an Olsen twins handbag lined with prescription drugs for sale, I sort of assumed that it was a comedy site with an unusually derpy sense of banner ads. Haven't got a chance to read the entire thread yet, but this grabbed my eye:

According to witnesses, protesters arrived at the event in a vintage 1960′s era Volkswagen van and began to pelt the gang members with balloons filled with red colored water, simulating blood, and shouting "you're murderers" to passersby. This, evidently, is when the brouhaha began.

My father was visiting the family in Norfolk, VA. back in the '90's; and I took him to Waterside Park on Earth Day. There were several booths set up - one of which was a PETA booth protesting an effort by the State to pass legislation that would make funds available and help enable/encourage large 'factory farms' to remodel and exceed EPA wastewater runoff regulations.

My Dad was genuinely surprised that they would protest against improving the environment and spent several minutes asking the lady questions... in particular that if their primary complaint was against the large farms, the ability and cost to improve this particular type of 'pollution' is beyond most small farms and consolidation - in this case - makes it much easier to control the waste.

The lady answered that 'owning' any animals - pets included - was wrong and that everyone should be working hard to eliminate all farms that raise animals, for whatever purpose.

My Dad - he must have been around 70 at the time - leaned in and said quietly: "Madam, one of us is a loon, and it's not me..." and walked away.

/look on her face was priceless.

You're a moron. Wearing leather has nothing to do with looking scary. It's a safety thing. If you go down without leather on, any regular clothes you're wearing will be quick ripped off and you'll have ground meat instead of body parts.

When my wife and I were dating, we spent a lot of time chatting online. I was telling some stories of my tech support days...how we would find some of the most horrible things on the Internet and trick each other into looking. She asked me what I meant, and I mentioned a certain related photo gallery. Realizing what I had done, I typed as fast as I coul "DON'T LOOK AT IT!!!" but she looked anyway. She still ended up marrying me, so I guess she wasn't too traumatized

Completely true. They're still better neighbors than PETArds, in my experience.

Lived next to a couple of bikers for about 6 months, one of whom was under house arrest at the time. Criminals? No doubt. Killers? Quite probably. Not at all nice people. But actually pretty decent neighbors if you got to know them, showed them respect, and didn't come off like you were going to rat them out or move in on their action. They helped me work on my truck a couple of times, helped carry stuff when I moved out, and a bunch of other small good neighbor stuff. Good criminals are smart enough not to shiat while they eat.

Only too true. That reminds me, if I can't get in a gated community, I'll move down the street from a biker clubhouse or a biker neighborhood. Petty auto theft, muggings and breakins just do not happen around them.

I'm talking real bikers here, not the dentists and accountants that play dress up on weekends.

I don't know what happened, my last comment was in response to this one...

...vintage 1960′s era Volkswagen van...

That's when I knew something was off about this article. Oh and I remembered seeing the photo somewhere.

JustinCase: Only too true. That reminds me, if I can't get in a gated community, I'll move down the street from a biker clubhouse or a biker neighborhood. Petty auto theft, muggings and breakins just do not happen around them.

I'm talking real bikers here, not the dentists and accountants that play dress up on weekends.

Uhh... if your first choice in residential options is a gated community, you probably won't fit in real well with bikers. Just saying...

Actually, I do. Life is more interesting when you seek out all walks of life. I've earned respect from a few individuals that gives me real internal pride. People that don't like or won't talk to others consider me a friend. Also, people that most others wouldn't talk to out of fear.

Older bikers in particular get points from me just because they stayed alive that long. Possibly sheer luck but most likely smarts. They're usually done with all the testosterone fueled insanity. They also exert a measure of control over the younger rabid and diseased puppies.
