I was picturing Harry saying that right after reading the headline.

Appropriate tag subby, 63 is far too young (these days - it was really good a couple hundred years ago...).

I farking loved Night Court. One of the few shows I can honestly say I spent more time laughing while watching, than just sitting there watching.

I'm glad Warner Archives is getting the rest of the seasons out in a decent timeframe.

It was a pretty damn funny show.

And, Weege was involved in Barney Miller, too.

Barney Miller and Night Court have a very similar look and feel, now that I think about it.

Things was, that was a live studio audience rather than canned laughter. There was this one laugh that I kept on hearing. It sounded like John Astin who played Buddy Ryan. You can hear it every other episode. I am guessing it was one of the writers or directors but it was such a distinct laugh.

So that means that he was in his mid-30s when he started Night Court, and probably joined Barney Miller by his 30th birthday.

We've wasted our lives, farkers.

It's kind of a shame Spiner ended up getting somewhat typecast after TNG, but you take what comes I guess.

I guess that depends on what kind of syndication and movie deals he got from TNG.

Perhaps he doesn't do much TV work by choice instead of because he was typecast.

He was on Boston Legal for 2 or 3 years.

Night Court had some great recurring characters on it. The Wheelers are a couple of the best. Personally, I always loved whenever John Astin showed up. Then there was Dan's homeless lackey for the first couple seasons.

And who can forget Yakov (Link)

Yeah, and The Practice is the one show out of that trilogy of David E. Kelley shows (Ally McBeal, The Practice, Boston Legal) that isn't on DVD, so to the tubes you go.

Sorry for a slight threadjack but on youtube there used to be these videos of Mario & Luigi that were from these educational videos. They would be talking and all of a sudden, the frame would freeze and Mario or Luigi (whoever was featured in the video) would then slowly mutate into this ghastly, ghoulish, horrible face. They were incredibly creepy but very funny.

Does anyone know where these videos might now be? I've looked for the last six months at least and cannot track them down anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

On the other hand, put him in makeup and uncredited, and he rocks the screen. (ID4, Dude, Where's My Car?)

I remember an episode where Hurricane Mel(!) hit NYC, and I rolled my eyes at that as sitcom silliness that 1) hurricanes don't come close to Manhattan and 2) they'll never get all the way to the "M"s in any given year.

Hah!

Sanford and Son had a *delightful* theme! :P

So did Barney Miller.

But Night Court? I always had to turn down the volume during the opening theme song.

I don't know how to explain it. I just respect it.
