I found it was pretty easy to make my mp3 player sound like an authentic cassette system: First a ran a DD against the Mp3s to randomly flip a bit every few kilobytes and then a tool that automatically starts reducing the tempo at the 2 hour mark until 2:15 minutes in it just shuts down the app. Oh and a 10% chance every time I change the play list that it deletes one of the mp3s.

I feel exactly like I'm back in the glory days of analog music, its great!

CSB time:

Back in the mid 80s while in college, I worked for Radio Shack.

I sold a guy one of their first portable CD players, and, just so he could play it in his factory 8-track equipped mid-70s Cutlass, a headphone-out to cassette adapter, and a cassette to 8-track adapter.

It worked so well he tipped me with a bag of some really good shiat.

Whats hilarious is tape data files as MP3. My dad was working on some old synth and had to reload the programming on it via mp3 versions of the data files from some website.

FirstNationalBastard: Isn't there some kind of hipster movement that drones on about the superior sound of cassette tapes?

I was going to jump on this and make a mock rant about the fidelity of the media...but them I looked at all the analog film cameras sitting around me and decided to just let it go.
