(Christian Science Monitor)   Study says subversive web sites should be allowed to exist, though kept under surreptitious monitoring. So that's why Fark is still around   (csmonitor.com) divider line 21

In other words, use the subversive sites as flytraps, and spy on everyone who ever pinged those servers.

Nobody is safer from having to go to the reeducation camps than Farkers. Have you seen the politics tab? Holy cow!

Maybe if I keep hanging out here, they'll just think I'm one of ya.

Seeing the farked up concepts on totse, seeing non-racist opinions on stormfront, seeing wtf opinions that belong in 1965 on chimpout, and gawking at horrible images on 4chan were once fun.

Now it just gets put in a memory hole by the NSA or cached into internet service provider waiting for you to be investigated for wtf ever.

1. Joe Lieberman should STFU and sit the fark down.
2. The CIA is absolutely right. Do not take down the websites/fora/etc.
3. Let the idiots shout out all their plans publicly.
4. Because if you shut down public outlets, it will just be that much harder to watch.

It's well known that Moot works with the FBI. Hell, he even testified in court that he does. It's the only reason why 4chan is still up.

Fark? Subversive? This site is about as mainstream as you can get.

You could go to reddit, there are not any trolls. But then you have to deal with twenty-something cultural references and annoying groupthink.

/But there are fewer trolls.

Not a Reddit fan. There's a certain greasy smugness that I feel whenever I visit there.

Is the site not http://www.reddit.com or am I visiting a different site every time I've tried to go to reddit?

'cause... trollific. As of this posting, for instance, the top thing is a 4chan troll, and that's just the topic. "I'm an Australian, I went on to 4chan and I'd just like to say fark you 4chan"

Not that 4channers don't deserve to be trolled, and trolled hard, but c'mon.

Seriously, the twats that troll the politics tab are not even close to being subversive, and the retards that respond to them are just that....retards.

/yes, that is the new fark mainstream, twats and retards.

I get that you may be going meta, but if you are trollifically tro-lo-lo serious then assholes like you are reasons for avoiding fark.

/And don't troll 4channers, they will find a way to win.

I'm not going meta or trolling you, that's what I see! That's what you probably see too, by going there right now. That is reddit, the place the fostered and supported violentacrez. Don't tell me that it's not trollific.

Prove me otherwise. Pull out a popular reddit discussion that's troll-less. I'm not afraid to have my opinions changed.

Why surreptitious? Most of them you can just create an account and log it if you want to know what's going on.

Just hate having to learn spycraft from the web, Burn Notice, Austin Powers flicks. Waiting to University of Phoenix to offer a real expensive course credits unlikely to transfer.

On a totally unrelated note....

Does anyone know why there was no Fark News Quiz this week?

Reddit is just farking ugly. I can't stand to look at the site long enough to see if there are trolls.

Yahoo News comments is slightly more mainstream than Buzzfeed is slightly more mainstream than Gawker is slightly more mainstream than Fark, no?

Though yeah any site that partners with the Daily Mail can't be all that subversive....

The article seems to be primarily concerned with websites that have extensive ties to Al Qaeda. I'm sure the government, CIA and FBI keep an eye on sites like Reddit and Fark too, but sorting through everything ever posted with a fine-toothed comb would take more man-hours than even they have. Finding Arabs to throw in detention makes them look better, and it's probably easier.
