Oh, I didn't see you there.. I was just planning on writing my wish list for Christmas this year..I didn't get anything last Christmas *rubs his bulging bicep*..as I was alone. It'd sure be nice if someone would kindly remind me of the spirit of the holiday season *removes his jeans to reveal a killer ass wrapped up in his sport cut boxer briefs*. I've been a good boy this year *insert bs moment about charity work and helping children and puppies*.. any sort of reward would be welcomed.. even something simple as a card. *queue In The Arms of An Angel*.

Do you have her address? You have an address-but that was from a year ago. Is it still good? OK, maybe you can call your mom to ask. But then you'd have to talk to your mom. And anyway, her birthday is in two days; you'd have to spring for express shipping to get it there on time.

So, let me get who this is for? It's for people who:-

1. have a sister who doesn't live near them
2. who they are friendly-enough with that they want to send a gift
3. but don't have their address
4. but they are on facebook together
5. but don't have their email address to send them a gift via Lockers
6. or their workplace address
7. and can't just call to say "hi, I realised that I should have your address, in case something happens"
8. and are uncomfortable with calling their mothers
9. and don't have fathers
10. or other siblings
11. and don't have their sister's email address so that they can just send an iTunes or Amazon voucher
12. and can't just call on the day and say "hi, your present is in the post". It's your sister, not your wife.
13. and they trust Facebook with their credit card

got it. huge success. going to start reaping that $100bn $50bn investment.

Thank you, subby, for using "gift giving" in the headline. As opposed to "gifting", which was used repeatedly in TFA. A "gift" is something you GIVE. You don't GIFT it.

// for fark sake.

2 things.

1. when you want to sound smart, using the term "first world" whatever makes you look like an idiot that stopped learning in the 80's. we are now a"developed nation" as opposed to undeveloped and developing nations; there are no 1st, 2nd, 3rd world countries.

2. Just stop giving gifts you materialistic whore. no one needs shiat that costs what trivial amount you are willing to spend. how about a farking house, or an organ transplant or a student loan debt ? do you really love me ? fark off with your DVD and $50 abercrombie gift card.

this writer is a complete biatch perpetuating all that is wrong with modern society.

FTA: The other major recent innovation is electronic gift cards, which are basically just another way to give cash.

Or it's a way to buy clothes for your wife/girlfriend that they don't send to goodwill because you lost the tags, AND gives them shopping time to pick what they want, and since it's a gift card for something specific rather than cash it's a blatant "yes, go buy yourself clothes you like" stamp without weird relationship politics like her wondering "Why did he just leave me fifty bucks on the dresser next to a half eaten candy cane?"

i thought she was from the 'chicks with dicks' category and yes, men like that kind of thing. there are millions of prostitutes in America, more than half are male, and its guys who are the clients. a little Maybelline, some high heels and a necklace, it's all good. the ones that come with a handle are just easier to flip over.

I wouldn't she still lurks sometimes, although i haven't seen her in a few months
The whole AW thing she did was fun at first just for the hell of it, but then it just got old
It's all fun until you start trying to send folks from here to your personal pay-to-look at me site.

Not to derail the conversation about who is an attention whore or not, and whether they're present, but ...

FTA: "Amazon Wish Lists ... only useful if your giftee is an Amazon shopper who maintains a list, which is a rare combination."

Isn't this only useful if your giftee is a heavy facebook user, who uses multiple apps, tends to purchase items through facebook/facebook sponsored links, and disables all the privacy-protection mechanisms so all the third party can snoop their data effectively?

Or is it just an analog to one of those sites where you pick the gender, the age, and relationship to you, and they offer popular gift choices? 'Cause we got those already.

So, let me get who this is for? It's for people who:-

1. have a sister who doesn't live near them - two, in fact, plus cousins on the west coast
2. who they are friendly-enough with that they want to send a gift - I would love to give gifts outside my immediate family, maybe someday I'll be able to afford to... and it will be a glorious day of surprise giving at that point.
3. but don't have their address - I do not keep an 'address' book, because every time I try I lose it and have to make a new one
4. but they are on facebook together - damn that site for being so useful
5. but don't have their email address to send them a gift via Lockers - ?
6. or their workplace address - who keeps workplace addresses for other people they don't need for work purposes?
7. and can't just call to say "hi, I realised that I should have your address, in case something happens" - for me at least it's always AFTER something happens that I think of this
8. and are uncomfortable with calling their mothers - not applicable for me
9. and don't have fathers - where do you think my lack of organization came from
10. or other siblings - see #1
11. and don't have their sister's email address so that they can just send an iTunes or Amazon voucher - the vouchers feel weird, like we're just exchanging cash
12. and can't just call on the day and say "hi, your present is in the post". It's your sister, not your wife. ?
13. and they trust Facebook with their credit card - credit cards mostly have protection against theft, and better than debit cards... also I have one on file for advertising my business, I've not had any problems.

All that said, I added some people last night through Amazon's site, and it double counted my one sister who was already on my list, so clearly there are some bugs to be worked out.

I've passed Peak Facebook, personally. FB's plan to make FB synonymous with the internet isn't working for me. I don't even use it on my browser anymore. Why TF would I want to "like" Samsung or Walmart or shiat like that? Then they start posting shiat on my wall. And I can't care less what companies my friends like.

I like to use FB like my own personal Fark thread (partially since mods don't greenlight my shiat). Often it's to share a link I found on Fark. And sometimes I like to argue with my extended family when I'm bored or surly. But I only interact with people I know. If I'm going to argue/debate/talk with random assholes on the 'net, it's going to be on Fark.

Get the fark off my lawn.
