Killer Cars: "realty"
Killer Cars: CapeFearCadaver: Too late: The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West VirginiaYou're not suggesting a documentary following a very notable and famous (in certain circles) guy and his family is perfectly analogous to scripted "realty" television, right?
Englebert Slaptyback: Summer Glau's Love SlaveInspectorZero: Does West Virginia even have the interwebs? It's a series of tubes. Not a series of rubes?
Hillbilly Jim: Many many couches will die for this injustice...
NashMcNash: InspectorZero: Does West Virginia even have the interwebs?YES BECAUSE I AM USING THEM RIGHT NOW.I like Joe Manchin, and I voted for him, but he's missing a certain angle here. When Jersey Shore became popular, thousands of college students flocked there because it looked cool. This show could be great for tourism. Spring Break West Virginia. I like it.Actually, I don't care either way.
Snarfangel: Shows about inbred hicks with dentistry problems really annoy me. All that "Right ho, Guv'nah!" "Bugger all! Where'd I park my lorry?" and "Naff off, you wanker! I'm not some poncy yob, I'm the bloody Prince of Wales!" Who understands that stuff?
theurge14: K-State fans learned the West Virginians are quite sensitive about the way their home state is perceived by outsiders. And this is coming from Kansans.
Englebert Slaptyback: How dare you make fun of our toothless, in-bred hillbillies?Only WE can make fun of our toothless, in-bred hillbillies!

rmcooper4: Can't confirm that but I do know WV used to have an arrangement with the Northeast back in the 1920"s where they brought in Italian immigrants to replace the discontented wage slaves murdered by imported Pinkerton detectives. The strikebreakers returned home but most of the Italians married in and those that didn't are probably so inbred that you can't tell the difference between them and the locals. Well, the melungeons, anyway. Either way, it would be hard pick them out since they sound just like the rest of the hillbillies, unlike most of the cast of "Buckwild".
rmcooper4: I have heard that a lot West Virginia and New Jersey have some sort of arrangement whereby WV college students go to NJ state schools as in state students and vice-versa. As such there are swarms of guidos and guidettes in Morgantown who apparently couldn't get into Rutgers. Maybe someone can confirm this. My point is it seems MTV could actually have a Jersey Shore: Appalachia.
vudukungfu: Six of one, half dozen of the other. If those Pennsylvanians hadn't enlisted the Scots-Irish to push you off the land, you'd be complaining about those godawful Quebecois.
