Major league dumbass - it appears he lived (at least for a while.

I knew I wasnt going to feel good watching this, and I was right. I don't know if it is turning 30, or getting hit by a truck this year and my leg being shattered, but what little wist I had for stuff like this as a youth, and I mean little [I was an explorer, not a xgame/speed junkie] has totally gone away.

The speed up made me ill and panicky. The fall made me cringe, along with the guys wrasping and pleading at the end. Really hope he is ok and doesnt do this dumb ass shiat ever again.

2012-12-07 09:46:49 AM
So when it faded to black at the end, was that the guy dying?

2012-12-07 09:49:56 AM
I have a co-worker who is big into sport bikes. It seems like every six months or so she is organizing a benefit for some dipshiat's kids after they eat a wall. I don't get the attraction.

2012-12-07 09:51:33 AM
I didn't enjoy that anywhere near as much as I thought I would.
The camera angle showed to much road and not enough horizon and then finishing off hearing him moaning in pain pretty much ended my enthusiasm.
/he's still a dipshiat though.

What organs did he donate?

Did anyone else get a constant urge to look up, over the monitor, as if to see further up the road?

Anyone else catch themselves hunching down & tilting their neck back to try to see further up the road?

/like vd61 age & the discovery that injuries hurt long term have made me give up my wilder pursuits of youth (still want to pick up skydiving again, perhaps once I'm retired & the kids are gone).

so... is that a snuff film? the guy certainly wasn't moving at the end.

It looks like the cam came off. You can see the cam in the shadow before the accident and it's mounted on the helmet in a way that would make it easy to come off. There were shadow moving before anyone else could have shown up, I think.

Go-Pro, bringing you the world from the idiot's point of view.

MVA victims that are making noise like that are 99% likely to survive. He wasn't slurring his words noticeably, so it's likely his brain-pan did the job. Probably suffered some pretty nasty bruising and maybe some simple fractures. His language was wrong for a compound fracture (AAHGHAAAAAAAAAGHAHGAFAAAAAAAAARKKMOOOOMYYYYY) neither was he doing the real danger sign - a soft panicked whimpering (difficulty breathing - flail chest or a torn aorta, or just plain old major overwhelming trauma).

Until it does.

I had a boss who was big into motorcycle until he lost control on his way to work. He says he was very lucky not too hurt himself seriously, he just had to miss a couple of day work and had trouble with one of his leg and foot for a few weeks. He never got on a motorcycle again.

Hell, yeah! Watching this video was very difficult for that reason. Anyone who is out-speeding his view is insane. That's one way to never grow up, Peter Pan.

Sagus: Did you catch the sound of the other motorcycle rider passing him by?

Yeah. I wondered for a moment if this was one of those stories where he couldn't be seen from the road, but it sounded like a later bike stopped, and then you see a shadow move.

Be curious to know what his actual speeds were during that video.

Sagus: Did you catch the sound of the other motorcycle rider passing him by?

Yeah, probably the one he nearly clipped while passing.

I get the attraction of sport bikes, I do, but jesus be smart about it. As so many above are commenting, if you find yourself looking down at the road RIGHT in front of you and not up ahead you are going WAY too fast. And the fact that he took the first corner way wide and crossed lanes and didn't slow down just pisses me off.

I'm too old for that shiat. My vstar keeps me plenty happy.

I think that was more due to lousy camera angle placement than him (got to be a 'him', girls get stupid in different ways...) not looking at the road. If you were to believe the camera view he doesn't look far enough ahead for city street speeds let alone out on the open road winding it out. He probably would have run off of the road far before when he did if that were the case. Regardless, he was in way over his head fairly quickly

Jeeze Mr. video submitter!
How much extra effort to put some text at the end?

a) Severly brusied
b) Broken leg, full recovery.
c) Spinal injury, now rides on four wheels.
d) Organs donated to three others, except the kidney reciepient says it feels 'stupid'.

I hate videos like this.... helmet cams pointed too far down. You can't see crap. It's as frustrating as the morons who film portrait mode on their cell phones. It makes the viewer want to keep looking up, when you can't!!

Look, if you are going to do something "extreme" and record it, then at least give us a field of view that lets us SEE things going on, instead of the ground rushing along at 180mph. Point the damn thing in the same direction you'd be looking, not at the front wheel of your motorcycle.

I can't believe that I agree with you, but I do completely. I was a safety officer for a major military command and sport bikes were my nemesis. We had probably the safest large command in the Navy, mostly due to a lack of anything particularly interesting going on, but we still lost one or two sailors every year to those stupidity amplifiers.

2/10. Would have been more effective if there had been any evidence of that in the video. (or anything other than a shot of the pavement under the front wheel...)

Based on the speed with which the little yellow dashes were flying past, he was over 120 a couple of times and about 80 when he went endo.

You know, even in the middle of the day with my farking sports sedan I won't speed on two lane highways any more. It's not worth the risk. Bad road, animals, inattentive drivers turning out at the wrong time, etc.

No, motorcyclists taking video of rude drivers and posting it on YouTube is a thing. There are people who record their commute every day for this reason. It's kind of like Russian dash cams, except the sole purpose is complaining on YouTube.

Seriously, you have no idea how dangerous "normal" drivers make the roads for motorcyclists.

And this is coming from one who always rode well under the speed limit, obeying all traffic laws.

/I was super paranoid about riding to begin with
//After the accident (caused by some douchebag running a red light) I don't drive anything, at all, ever.

That is accurate, normal car drivers doing stupid stuff kills motorcyclists all the time. All the same though doing that kind of speed on an undivided highway is just crazy stupid.

I laughed when I first went through the video, I feel a bit guilty about that now but if he had nailed somebody he likely would have killed them at that speed.

I was in a couple low-speed motorcycle crashes and a 40 MPH near miss. They sucked pretty bad, haven't ridden in the last 3 years. Rode a crotch rocket once over 110 MPH, when I looked at the speedometer it scared me back down to 55.

2012-12-07 09:07:42 PM
mistake.. look farther up the road ahead of you instead of down at the road, right in front of you...
2nd mistake.. don't run off the road at a high rate of speed!!!
3rd mistake.. don't drive like an asshat by others and the might stop and help when you wipe out... instead of just passing on by, snickering.

thank you for explaining. i was not aware of this phenomena on YT. the Russian dash cams we see here on Fark, holy crap most of them are just incredible. i've always marveled how some people live through horrific tragedies while others are killed from a false step on the curb.

That was one helluva good ride...until the end where he obviously didn't know the road.

I've done shiat that crazy on a bike - but only where I knew the road. Got an old film camera pic around here somewhere from the early 80's where I leaned back and you can see my feet on the bars steering @ 145 while I took the picture...good times!

I got taken off a bike doing about 40 by a pulled over car that made a no look u-turn. Broken wrist, cracked ribs and a sprained ankle from where my foot hit her mirror as I was flying over her hood. Put a pretty good crack in the back of my helmet as well. Even wearing proper protective clothing, I was still in rough shape afterwards, pulled muscles that I didn't know I had, tore up my hands through the gloves, ect. I can't imagine hitting the pavement at those sort of speeds. Not to say that I haven't ridden that fast before, but not on a twisty road like that. If you can't stop yourself from crossing into oncoming traffic, you are going too damn fast for the road.

Idiot comment. I don't drive on my lawn except with the John Deere, and that only goes 11mph.
